Disappointed with Call Of Duty Ghosts One Player and Extinction



Hi guys,

this is probably my least of all the COD's I am afraid which is why I have not posted up maps of the extinction game mode, mainly because ther eis only one and its fairly easy to navigate around as there is really only one way you can go.

I bought the game the day it came out at about 11:40 am and had the one player completed on Veteran by 7:30pm. I thought the story was okay, especially the bit in space I liked a lot in the Odin satellite when all hell brakes lose when terrorists seize control of it.

The one thing I was really really looking forward to was the alien game mode Extinction, which I thought would last for quite some time, at least until the next Trayarch game comes out with hopefully more zombies. After A few games I ranked up quite quickly on my own. Then when I decided to join an Xbox Live party of random guys, I thought we were never going to do it it, as lots of people left the game halfway through and I just couldn't be bothered.




However, after another few failed attempts I found a great team of 3 that stayed with me to the end. We found that using grenade turrets in sections where there is the barrier by the aliens which cannot be affected by the drill, dramatically speeds up the destruction of it with the black hawk helicopters help. After a very good but short hour, the mape was done and I was hoping this would unlock maybe the next section or a new map to continue this great game mode, but I was wrong.

This is what has annoyed me about it as every level we will have to buy in each of the DLC content packs and this is one COD I am going to give a miss on the DLC content I am afraid. Its basically Modern Warfare 1 / 2 all over again with very little, if any improvements. I am playing the multiplayer but am starting to get slightly bored of it already and am up to level 52 at present, but am losing the will to play it.

Just thought I would let you know why I haven't updated the blog for this new game as to be honest, I do not think it is worth £45. Battlefield 4 isn't a major improvement either but at least they are going in the right direction with it by making far more players available on Xbox one and PS4, where COD while capable of adding lots more players and larger maps, stays the same as on the normal Xbox 360 which is just pure laziness if you ask me.

Some more improvements need to be made to COD and some kind of new style of gameplay etc as its getting very old. The tenth iteration and to be honest, not much has changed since Modern Warfare 1 (COD 4).

Bring on Xbox One and Battlefield 4 until the next Treyarch game comes out as I am sure they can find ways to use the Xbox One power to bring the franchise to new levels.....fingers crossed :)

Call Of Duty Ghosts Extinction game mode revealed, includes trailer!



Hi guys,

here is the video for the Call Of Duty Ghosts Extinction game mode which the trailer has just been released for and looks very interesting.

Seems to be instead of zombies from Treyarch its some kind of alien infestation that's taking over the planet and its up to the Ghosts or group of 4 characters players to kick some ass and send them back to whatever planet they came from.

Here is the video below and looks quite interesting, cannot wait to try it out. I wonder if it is like a horde mode where you have to just survive to the highest level as it gets harder and harder as it goes on. I love game types where the odd's are stacked against you and have to fight to survive makes it a lot more exciting.

Call OF Duty Ghosts Game Modes, Multiplayer and Campaign features - COD Ghosts

From, Activision, this is to be the tenth main installment in the Call of Duty series, and the sixth developed by Infinity Ward.

Campaign

The player will assume the role of a character dressed in a military Ghost uniform known only as Hesh. However, Infinity Ward's executive producer Mark Rubin has stated that Hesh is not the character's final name and is just a place holder until the studio can come up with a better name.





Multiplayer

As confirmed in the behind-the-scenes video released by Call of Duty, the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Ghosts will not be like the previous Call of Duty games.[how?] New mechanics have been added to the multiplayer. Maps now have areas that can be altered or destroyed. 


On certain maps, there is a Nuke-like kill-streak,the Odin Strike, that can be used by killing the top player on the other team and then completing various challenges after picking up a briefcase that is dropped. The sniper-rifle scopes will also have new "dual render technology" allowing the player to see around the outside of the scope when zoomed in. On October 3, a new multiplayer type was revealed, called Squads. 

This features a squad that you build and you can face other squads around the world. Your squad can be leveled up and will act like a true individual. There have been six confirmed maps so far. "Strikezone", "Octane", "Whiteout", "Stonehaven" and "Chasm" are the five confirmed maps that are in Call of Duty: Ghosts so far. The dynamic map, "Free Fall", is a pre-order bonus. It has also been revealed that the game will feature playable female soldiers.
Multiplayer game modes


Call of Duty: Ghosts brings back a number of fan-favorite modes, while introducing seven new game types, including:


Search and Rescue: A take on Search & Destroy, but rather than having a single life per round, in Search & Rescue a player's team can revive them. It combines that teamwork and communication from Kill Confirmed with the objective-based cooperation of Search & Destroy.
    

Cranked: In this team-based game mode, the player has to kill an enemy which triggers a timer. The player must get another kill before the timer reaches zero, otherwise they die. The player's movement is enhanced in this game mode.[9]
    

Free for all: The classic gamemode from previous installments in the franchise returns in Call of Duty: Ghosts, in which players must rack up a total of 30 kills to win the game against seven other opponents or rack up to most kills in a 10 minute time limit.
   

Team Deathmatch: Team Deathmatch returns in Call of Duty: Ghosts: two teams, 10 minutes, 75 kill limit.
    

Search and Destroy: A gamemode in which one side has five minutes to plant a bomb at a choice of two sites and the other team is tasked with defending the sites, the catch of this mode is there are no respawns and the game ends once one team wins four rounds.    

Domination: A gamemode where three flags are scattered throughout the map for players to take and control. Every two seconds a flag in controlled will gain a player's team a point, if a player's team controls two or three flags they gain two or three points. The first team to 200 points or the team with the highest amount of points after 10 minutes wins.
    

Kill Confirmed: A gamemode in which two teams battle, similar to TDM, with the catch being that when a player kills an enemy they drop a dog tag, which is worth points when collected. If a player collects a fallen teammate's dog tag, no points are award to the enemy team; first team to 100 points wins the game.

Infected: Same as Modern Warfare 3 infected.
    

Grind: No Information    

Blitz: This team-based game mode is similar to Capture the Flag in that the player needs to go to a portal located at the enemy's spawn point while preventing players from the enemy team from reaching theirs. These portals are temporarily closed when they are captured to prevent players from rushing.

Hunted: No Information 




Plot

A playable German Shepherd dog is part of the player's squad.

San Diego is kinetically bombarded by an American space station called the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN),[9] after being hacked by a group called the "Federation", resulting in what becomes known as "The Event." As a result, the global balance of power changes: Many countries are decimated, geographical landscapes have changed, and the United States doesn't exist as a superpower. American industries and infrastructures are devastated, casualty ratings are critically high, and the contiguous United States is made vulnerable.[7]

In 2023, the "Federation" (consisting mostly of South American regions) emerges as the world's dominant superpower, invades the crippled United States, and overwhelms their military. With its military crippled, state territories falling, and government structure collapsing, America is losing the war, but remnants of the U.S. military aren't giving up without a fight, so they all created a specialized unit called the "Ghosts", led by a retired U.S. Army captain, Elias Walker (Stephen Lang). He is joined by his sons, Logan and David Walker, American soldiers, along Booth and Neptune, a trained German Shepherd named Riley, and a U.S. Navy SEAL commander, Thomas A. Merrick.[7]

The "Ghosts" are an elite paramilitary force of former U.S. special forces who became more skillful than the Federation's military forces that are capable of waging dangerous guerrilla warfare, clandestine operations, and infiltrations behind enemy lines, even on their mainland, to eradicate all threats in order protect what remains of the United States. These soldiers are determined to keep the existences of the United States and to destroy the Federation by hunting down their leading members, Almagro and Rorke, and to hack the Federation's newly developed space station, "Loki" to completely annihilate them to re-establish American superiority over the world once again.

Hi guys,

I cannot wait as the new Call Of Duty Ghosts Game is nearly here only about a fortnight left until the carnage begins!

I will be using this blog to leave hints, tips and tricks etc on the one player along with any hidden easter eggs or secrets I find. If there is anything like zombies or as we already know its not Treyarchs turn to make this one, it may be survival mode where all the terrorists etc attack you non stop and you have to hold out as long as you can until the highest level, before going splat.

The tips I will leave if it is a survival mode is the kinds of baddies you will encounter at certain levels, how much weapons cost, cool tactics to use to outwit the enemy and much much more!

Airstrike Monkey Bomb

To get these awesome destructive weapons, you have to take a pebble that is found in the tank station to the church, and place it in the fountain in order to allow it to absorb the souls of the zombies that you kill.

Once you charge it at the fountain with souls, the pebble will appear clean, as it was dirty before, and you must take it back to the table in the tank station wher eyou got it from, and place it back where it was. You Then start killing more zombies and charging their souls into it and voila! Once you have done it a strange object will appear which you can pick up and use it anytime to throw and activate the awesome power of the monkey bomb airstrike.

Golden Shovel Upgrade and Golden Helmet

To get the golden shovel, all you need to do is constantly dig up the dig sites that spawn randomly around the place in each round. You need to dig up around 50 of these to get the golden shovel. Once you have the golden shovel, you will notice the bottom right hand corner symbol for your shovel will turn from grey to gold. Now when you dig up dig sites, you will notice a lot more better powerups appearing more often than lots of boobie traps or spawning zombies.

When you have the golden shovel, if you pick up zombie blood, you can dig up flourescent red piles. I believe there's one near Juggernog and one near the laboratory. Not sure about others. It gives you an empty bottle, which then allows you to buy another perk.

To get the Golden Helmet

The Golden Helmet is got by digging up a further 20 dig sites after getting the gold shovel. The Golden Helmet protects you from being stomped on by the robots. A tip is to get a group of the zombies into a robot stomp area and keep them running around until the foot squishes you. The screen will go black but you will get up again yourself, without loosing any perks, and all of the zombies will be killed, as they are now flat as a pancake.

Building the Lightning Staff Purple Parts With The Tanks Help

 

Hi guys,

here is how you build the lightning staff and where to collect all of the 3 parts for the staff. All 3 need to be done using the tank, if there are 3 players you can do it all in one pass, however if there is one player playing, they will have to circle round at least twice to get all 3 parts.

Here is the video how to do it and where to jump off the zombie tank:




The first part is actually  right at the start of the game. When going from the laboratory to generator 3, if you look above where the semtex is, you will see the purple glowing piece for it.

The second piece is under the Pack-A-Punch in the main dig site. When the zombie tank goes past the main dig site on the way to the church, there is a small wooden platform sticking out that you have to jump on. You will see it is the part that is stuck in the wall up high from when you are under the ground in the main dig site but can't reach.

The 3rd piece is the part in the church which you can see when upstairs in it. This is also accessible by jumping off the tank when it pulls into the church again at the end of its cycle.

Once you have all 3 staff parts, go to the lightning tunnel with the gramophone and purple record and play it. Go into the crazy place and collect the "Lightning Stone" and then bring it back to the main dig site underneath and go to the very bottom where the coloured machines are for each staff.
Build it and then start using it.

You can only have 1 staff at a time but can swap them over at any time. I have only built the "Lightning Staff" which fires bolts of lightning and explodes a bit causing crawlers and deaths in large numbers, and the  "Ice Staff" which freezes all of the zombies especially when in large numbers. Both are very useful specially if a team mate helps you kill the zombies when they are frozen.

Hi guys,

I have been really busy job hunting and have not been able to draw all of the maps for the Origins map, so instead, I have decided to create my own videos showing you the locations of the parts, how to activate or do certain things in different areas etc as it is a lot faster than drawing the maps out and a lot more clearer.

The Origins map has a lot of different parts to it and including them all on one or two images can be a lot to take in and quite confusing seeing all images etc plastered all over the place.

In this video I have created, I will show you the 3 spawn locations of the BLACK RECORD which is used to be played in the Dig Site Chamber, underneath the Pack-A-Punch Machine, to open the stairways to the place where you can build the 4 different staffs with the parts you have been collecting throughout the level.

There is also a Maxis Drone part in the dig chamber before you go down which looks like a "Valve" from a pipe. If it is not in the dig site chamber before going down the stairs that appear, then it is on the very bottom floor just above where the staffs are built on a small platform which is shown in the video.

When leaving the dig site, don't forget to take the Gramophone with you again as if you go to another dig site without it, it will say you have place it at another location, which can be a bit frustrating sometimes.

I have so far only built the Lightning Staff and the Ice Staff which is linked to at the top of this post.

I am uploading a 30 minute long video which does a walk through of the whole level up to the dig site and before getting onto the zombie tank, which has a separate post, as there are 3 parts to the zombies tank run which you must jump off in order to get all 3 staff parts for the purple (lightning rod).

Hi guys,

here is the map layout for the workshop building, top and bottom floor. This building provides the crucial access to the main dig site and to a build table and a collectible to activate the levels song which makes a funny laser PEOW sounding noise when activated.

The Five-Seven pistol is also located in this area and costs 1100 to buy.

Here is the map layout below:


The good news is there is no robots waiting to squich you like a bug in any part of this building, however the corridors are quite tight and can prove a bit trecherous if more than one of you are stuck in here with no bullets. If you have no bullets and you get trapped in here, you will be on top of a zombies pizza faster than you can say BRAINS!

Hi guys,

here is the "Tank Station" ground floor and roof layout. It contains a random crate spawn location, a record for the staff parts you have to collect, a part for the zombie shield on the roof that spawns here sometimes and the MP40 machine gun, a classic weapon from World At War and in any World War II game.

Watch out when on the roof as some people run blindly onto it and get squished by the giant robots walking past. Have a peek before venturing out or its squish goes the weazel :).

Hi guys,

here is the 2 parts to the trenches that lead from the two doors exiting the Laboratory and lead onto the Tank Station and the Workshop. It also passes by Generator 3 which you can activate while here and Generator 2.

There are some zombie shield parts to pick up along the way as well as some dig sites to use the shovel on to get either parts of the staff, extra weapons, bullets, money, or boobie traps from. Don't forget to pick up the claymores as the giant zombie that appears from time to time and chases after you with his grappling hook and flame thrower appears to get stunned by walking into the claymores and gives you a few brief moments to try and shoot him in the head through his helmet, once the glass is broken in it.

Hi guys,

well here it is the final map pack in the Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Zombie levels and it is out of this world! Well its in the same world, earth only way back in time to the First World War which reveals how all this horrific holocaust has come about throughout all of the zombie levels.

So far I have found that there is a new powerup called "Zombie Blood" which makes the screen go dark red. Its very handy as a pickup as it is kind of like Vulture Aids green smoke that you see when you kill a zombie and then stand in it, the zombies will ignore you. Vulture Aid is from the Buried Zombie Map level in the previous map pack. The Zombie Blood pickup makes the zombies ignore you for a brief amount of time until it wears off, They will not hit you or chase after you while it is on.

Here is a screen shot of what it looks like to pickup and what your HUD looks like then you have it activated:



Also when you go down on one player / solo play you get to see the Mauser pistol upgrades with a scope on it. It fies the upgraded Pack-A-Punch ammo like a laser and has a scope up on top with cross hairs which is very accurate. Here it is below when you have been downed:



Here is the map layout for the Laboratory Level/ Main Spawn Area (needs updated as I find more things out) its kind of a large file as there is a lot to this map so please give it a few second to download:



Activating the Generators in Origins:

To activate the generators at each point costs 200 points. Once activated, ancient warriors which seem to be electrified appear from portals and in order to charge the generator up to make it work, you have to keep them near the switch that you turned the generator on with.

An icon appears showing you how much charge is in the generator....you need to be close to the switch while its charging to keep it going, in multiplayer on this map, the more of you near the switch the quicker it charges. If they are too far away from the switch, the charge level will drop and you will hear the voice say that the charging has been interrupted.

Once full charged, everything inside that building will activate including the Der Wonderfuzz machine, Perk machines and anything else that needed power. I think that activating each generator produces a free reward from the "Rituals of the Ancients" chest. Check back here to see after activating each generator if you have got something.

You will see a large blue icon charging when you are close enough to the switch:


If the you are too far away from the generator core, then it will turn red:
