Operation Deadbolt Field Upgrades and their Advantages - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Maps: Main Map Layouts -- Portals -- Doghouses -- Pack-a-Punch -- Aether Tears -- Blood Burner Aether Motorbike -- Exfil Locations -- Buy Stations -- Aether Zones -- Gas Stations -- Mystery Box Locations --

Hi guys,

Let's dive headfirst into the arsenal of field upgrades that make every undead encounter a mix of chaos, strategy, and a dash of virtual mayhem within Operation Deadbolt in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.

We have 6 Field upgrades in total, here is a quick summary before we delve into more detail on each:

  • First up is the Energy Mine – it's the Michael Bay explosion you never knew you needed, unleashing massive damage with a cinematic flair.
  • Then, there's the Frenzied Guard, your knight in digital armour, repairing your defences while turning you into a temporary zombie magnet.
  • Feeling a bit frosty? Enter Frost Blast, a field upgrade that not only deals damage but also slows down the undead onslaught.
  • Don't underestimate the Healing Aura – a burst of collective health to keep your squad in the game and revive any downed team mates within a certain range.
  • Then we have the Aether Shroud, turning you invisible for those moments when you need to pull a Houdini on the zombie horde.
  • Let's not forget the Tesla Storm, the grand finale that's like Thor hosting a lightning party for you and your squad. Buckle up, gamers – it's about to get electrifying!

Energy Mine - MEDIUM RECHARGE RATE

Unleash the power of the Energy Mine field upgrade in MW3 - it packs more punch than a can of Monster! Instantly available, this explosive offers crowd control with its massive damage. While not mind-blowing initially, its first explosion makes it a reliable choice until you unlock more advanced Field Upgrades.

Frenzied Guard - SLOW RECHARGE RATE

Frenzied Guard is a field upgrade designed for a more defensive playstyle. Upon activation, it not only restores your armour to full but also compels all nearby enemies to focus their attention on you for a duration of 10 seconds. The unique twist lies in the fact that enemy kills during this period contribute to repairing your armour.

Unlocked at level 9, Frenzied Guard offers a strategic option for those seeking both protection and a diversionary tactic. However, personal preferences may vary. While it remains a solid choice, some players, including myself, find alternative defensive strategies more appealing. With a plethora of Armor Plates scattered across the map, and considering the availability of more potent offensive upgrades, Frenzied Guard may not top the list, but it remains a dependable tool in the arsenal of MW3 Zombies enthusiasts.

Healing Aura - SLOW RECHARGE RATE

Healing Aura is a formidable field upgrade designed to be a game-changer. Unlocked at level 19, this ability offers instantaneous, widespread healing for all players. It's not just a simple patch-up; it's a revitalizing burst that can turn the tide in the most dire situations.

When your squad is in a tight spot, unleash the Healing Aura to provide a rejuvenating wave of health, effectively staunching the bleeding and turning the tables in your favour. In the realm of defensive selections, the Healing Aura emerges as a standout choice, demonstrating its prowess in strategic and intense moments.

One property of it that makes it a major field upgrade is that if your within a certain distance of a downed team mate, activating it will instantly revive them and bring them to their feet. Great if you and your team mate are stuck in a pickle of a situation and neither can get to one another for help.

Frost Blast MEDIUM RECHARGE RATE

Frost Blast is a field upgrade which is meticulously crafted for pivotal moments. Unveiling its potential at level 29, this is extremely useful especially in objective-based scenarios and tight situations. The initial blast not only inflicts damage upon enemies but also exerts a slowing effect on those who enter its icy radius.

Picture this: you find yourself in a "defend the objective" predicament, and Frost Blast emerges as the ultimate ally. The immediate blast serves as a powerful deterrent, but the true genius lies in its ability to decelerate subsequent threats. This not only provides a tactical advantage but also affords you precious time to fortify defences, replenish supplies or dispatch zombies at your own pace.

In the arsenal of field upgrades, Frost Blast stands out as a strategic asset, showcasing its versatility and effectiveness when the stakes are high. It is great at slowing the faster zombies down in the higher threat zones where they have picked up the pace immensely when transitioning from say tier 1 to tier 2 or from tier 2 to tier 3. You will notice enemies becoming much more agile.

Frost Blast can help slow down situations and give you time to think as to what your next action will be.

Aether Shroud MEDIUM RECHARGE RATE

Aether Shroud shouldn't be underestimated. Unlocked at level 39, its power lies in granting temporary invisibility to Zombies. While it may not boast the versatility of some counterparts, its significance becomes paramount in critical moments.

The ability to vanish from sight not only allows for opportunistic strikes but also proves invaluable when tackling Aether Nests or Infested Strongholds, providing a strategic edge and the freedom to navigate these challenges with ease, without being punched, bitten and kicked by zombies trying to order you for the lunch menu.

Tesla Storm - SLOW RECHARGE RATE

Tesla Storm is the pinnacle of field upgrades in MW3 Zombies, although unlocking it takes time, the payoff is immense. At level 50, this ability unleashes 10 seconds of lightning that connects to other players, stunning and damaging normal enemies.

As the sixth and final unlock, Tesla Storm is synonymous with devastation and chaos. Its potency is fully realized with a complete squad, consistently damaging and stunning enemies in any situation. Despite its "Slow Recharge" the benefits far outweigh the wait, making it a worthwhile investment in the pursuit of victory.

Thanks for reading as always and make sure to put these upgrades to use.

Operation Deadbolt Pack a Punch Faster and Cheaper - Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Maps: Main Map Layouts -- Portals -- Doghouses -- Pack-a-Punch -- Aether Tears -- Blood Burner Aether Motorbike -- Exfil Locations -- Buy Stations -- Aether Zones -- Gas Stations -- Mystery Box Locations --

Hi guys,

We all know it's not easy in Operation Deadbolt starting from scratch each play through and trying to get money together so that you can upgrade to Pack-a-Punch as soon as possible. As we know in the LOW THREAT zone, Pack-a-Punch costs 5000 point sot upgrade your weapon, 10,000 in the MEDIUM THREAT zone and 15,000 in the HIGH THREAT zone.

In order to get the money together to afford any of these upgrades for Pack-a-Punch, we normally spawn into the map and start off every game almost the same way.

We first choose some missions that we know we can complete successfully and more easily, such as those in the LOW THREAT zone and try to save up the 5000 points needed to get the first Pack-a-Punch upgrade.

We then grind away doing more and more missions in possibly higher threat zones to get higher rewards and get to the next Pack-a-Punch stage which requires 10,000 credits or 15,000 credits to upgrade again....but.....there is a quicker way.

Make Life Easier for Yourself

As zombies are terrible at maths, no bank loans are available within Operation Deadbolt to lend you the money needed for Pack-a-Punch. The zombie financial system has collapsed in Urzikstan....or possibly....never existed...but...her are some steps we can follow in order to get a more powerful upgrade of a weapon, even more powerful than lower tiers Pack-a-Punched weapons, right from the get go, then the next upgrade of that more powerful weapon is a black Friday deal of only being 5000 credits for the first upgrade, rather than 10,000 or 15,000.

As Captain Price says "Let's do thisssss!".

The following method of getting the more powerful weapons should save around 20-25 mins of game time of slogging through endless missions just to Pack-a-Punch a weapon, then before you get to use it to its full potential, time has run out and you need to exfil the map.

Step 1 - Craft and put on your Running Shoes

Before we spawn into Operation Deadbolt, its good to get a running head start on the competition. We can do this by CRAFTING A STAMIN-UP Perk-a-cola before we enter into the map and assign the Perk-a-cola to your inventory before you deploy.

Step 2 - Don't be a tool...use the tool!

Next up to give yourself an edge on the zombie infestation, use a GREEN or BLUE AETHER TOOL to give you that extra bit of bite and damage to your weapons before you spawn.

Step 3 - Get a job...with a Contract! Also with a Dental Plan if Possible!

Now, spawn into the game and use the AETHER TOOL plus the STAMIN-UP PERK and it will give us an edge when starting off. Now we need to complete around 2 contracts, whichever is the closest and easiest ones to do, and collect your rewards from these.

We are trying to get to 5000 points before moving onto the next step, so kill zombies or start looting if your bank balance is not at the 5000 points mark yet.

Once you have 5000 points we will move onto the next step, wall shopping.....no not window shopping....I definitely said wall.

Step 4 - Pay day....let's spend it all!

Now what we need to do is head over to an area in the HIGH THREAT zone and find a LEGENDARY WALL BUY WEAPON to purchase at a grand total of 5000 smackers. This in itself is an awesome weapon and extremely powerful.

This gun is instantly more powerful than if you took a standard gun from when you spawned in, saved up the 5000 points and Pack-a-Punched the gun in a LOW THREAT zone. So it kind of makes more sense to jump ahead a few levels and get a gun of insane power, than grinding through all the stages of making money via contracts just for a Pack-a-Punched weapon.

As soon as you get a weapon like this, this means you can do contracts in higher threat zones much more easier and get bigger and better rewards for completing these.

As we purchased this in the HIGH THREAT zone, level 3 tier, it means you won't need to spend 15,000 on Pack-a-Punch in the HIGH THREAT tier 3 zone to get another power boost added to it.

You can simply head over to the Pack-a-Punch machine in the LOW THREAT zone, tier 1, and Pack-a-Punch it for a mere 5000 credits, saving around 66% if my maths serves me correctly from school.

Thanks for reading as always guys.

To track it down, open your map and be on the lookout for the distinctive purple motorcycle icon.

The Blood Burner might just be playing hard to get, choosing to reveal itself on the map only when you're in close proximity. Keep your eyes peeled and you might spot the bike icon on the mini-map when you're near, similar to how the DOGHOUSES appear when in close proximity.

Charge it up by ploughing through the undead masses and when you're ready, unleash a lethal, purple pulse by pressing R1/RB/Left Click. Watch as it wipes out all enemies in the vicinity, ensuring a cleaner path through the zombie-infested landscape, just like the ENERGY MINE FIELD UPGRADE. It will appear as an additional ability while you are on the bike in the bottom right hand corner of your HUD.

And for those nail-biting extraction moments, the Blood Burner proves invaluable. Drive it around your Exfil point in a circle until your exfil chopper arrives and you'll effortlessly clear out all undead obstacles with ease, guaranteeing a successful escape.

However, there's a catch – you can't take the Blood Burner with you when you Exfil. As you make your daring escape, you'll have to cross your fingers and hope to encounter this beast again in your future drops. The Blood Burner is not just a mode of transport; it's your ticket to chaos, survival, and unforgettable gaming moments in MW3 Zombies.

Operation Deadbolt Pack-a-Punch locations in Urzikstan - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Hi guys,

In the chaotic and relentless world of Modern Warfare 3 Operation Deadbolt Zombies, survival is not just about skilful shooting and strategic manoeuvring around zombie hordes, it's also about enhancing your arsenal to face the ever-growing undead horde. The horde grow stronger, faster and pack more of a punch the high the threat zone you enter.

Your standard weapons will work okay in a LOW THREAT ZONE, however when we start to move into the MEDIUM and HIGH THREAT ZONES, we need something that packs a little more punch....hmmm just realised that's where Pack-a-Punch probably got it's name from, learn something new everyday.

The key to unlocking the true potential of your weapons lies in the mysterious and powerful Pack-a-Punch machine. Let's dive into the mechanics of this crucial element and explore the dynamic challenges it presents in different threat zones.

Below is a screenshot from the interactive map made on the website https://wzhub.gg/ which allows you to bring up the overall tactical map of Urzikstan, then on the left hand side of the screen, filter down through showing only individual features on the map which is absolutely awesome.

All Pack-a-Punch locations are shown below when filtering everything else out from the website WZHUB.GG tactical map:

I'm not associated with this website in any way and I'm simply using their screenshot as a reference. The map is crafted by the individuals behind this site, not by me. It appears to be consistently updated whenever a new feature spawn location is discovered, which is immensely helpful given the impressive level of detail.

Understanding the Pack-a-Punch
The Pack-a-Punch machine serves as the gateway to weapon empowerment, transforming your firearms into devastating instruments of destruction. To access this upgrade, players must locate a Pack-a-Punch machine on the map and invest their hard-earned points into the process.

However, unlike in previous version of zombies, you cannot just gather up points and keep upgrading your weapons at the same Pack-a-Punch machine.

Threat Zones no in Play and Cost Variations
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies introduces a layered approach to Pack-a-Punch upgrades, categorizing the map into three distinct threat zones: Low Threat, Medium Threat, and High Threat. Each zone comes with its own set of challenges and an escalating price tag for Pack-a-Punch enhancements.

  • Low Threat Zone (Cost: 5000 Points)
In the initial stages of the game, the undead menace is more manageable and so is the cost of Pack-a-Punching your weapons. The entry-level upgrade comes at a relatively modest price of 5000 points.

  • Medium Threat Zone (Cost: 10,000 Points)
As the zombie onslaught intensifies, so does the difficulty level. In the Medium Threat Zone, players must shell out 10,000 points to further enhance their weapons. The stakes are higher, but so is the firepower.

  • High Threat Zone (Cost: 15,000 Points)
The apex of danger and challenge lies in the High Threat Zone. Here, players face the most formidable undead adversaries, and unlocking the full potential of your arsenal comes at a hefty cost of 15,000 points.

Navigating Upgrades Across Threat Zones
One intriguing twist to the Pack-a-Punch system is the restriction on upgrading your weapons in the same threat zone where you previously enhanced them. For example, if you Pack-a-Punch your guns in the Low Threat Zone, you must venture into either the Medium or High Threat Zones for subsequent upgrades.

Money-Making Strategies
Accumulating the necessary points for Pack-a-Punch upgrades requires resourcefulness and adaptability.

Players can explore various avenues to amass points, including:

  • Collecting and Selling Loot at Buy Stations: Hunt for valuable items and exchange them for points.
  • Aether Nests: Explore the map for essence containers in Aether Nests, providing a valuable source of points.
  • Cash Registers in Shops: Raid shops for essence, adding to your point pool.
  • Zombie Kills and Boss Battles: Dispatch undead foes and conquer formidable bosses for substantial point rewards.
  • Aether Raid Boxes: Seek out large Aether raid boxes for high-quality loot and points.
  • Harvester Orbs: Shoot harvester orbs to obtain vials of aether, a currency essential for upgrades.
  • Completing Contracts: Take on contracts scattered across the map for additional point bonuses.
  • Weapon Stashes and Mercenary Strongholds: Raid these locations for points and valuable loot.

Mastering the intricacies of the Pack-a-Punch system is crucial for survival. Navigating the threat zones, managing your resources wisely and choosing the right moments to upgrade are key elements in your battle against the undead horde.

If you are about to EXFIL from the map, do not waste money in upgrading your guns to Pack-a-Punch, as they will not carry through to the next round and you will only have the same basic weapon either insured or contraband weapon being brought back out again for use in the next play through. Keeping the money will translate into XP for your rewards at the end of a successful exfil.

So, gear up, venture into the unknown, and unlock the true potential of your weaponry with the Pack-a-Punch machine. The survival of the fittest has never been more electrifying!

Thanks for reading as always.

Operation Deadbolt All Doghouse Locations in Urzikstan - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Hi guys,

Welcome to the heart-pounding world of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies in Urzikstan, where survival is not only about outsmarting the undead but also strategically unleashing the fury of man's best friend.

In this adrenaline-fueled adventure, a tactical map screenshot below reveals the key to gaining a ferocious ally in the fight against the hordes of zombies scattered across the map. Doghouses, cleverly placed in high, medium, and low-threat tier zones, serve as the spawning grounds for friendly hellhounds, eager to sink their teeth into the rotting flesh of the undead.

To keep these loyal companions by your side, players must collect chunks of flesh, a gruesome resource acquired through the relentless slaughter of the walking dead and feeding a certain amount to each of the dogs in the doghouses to get them to spawn for you. The hauntingly beautiful landscape of Urzikstan becomes a battleground, with players strategically navigating through high-risk areas to maximize their kill count and gather the precious chunks of flesh.

As the tension rises, activating an exfil site not only offers a potential escape route but also triggers a wave of undead, meaning a greater chance of obtaining chunks of flesh as you will be able to kill a large amount of zombies in a shorter space of time, especially when using high explosives on large zombie hordes. Get ready for an immersive experience where every move matters and man's best friend might just be the key to surviving the night.

Operation Deadbolt All Portals entrances and exit locations - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Hi guys,

You're likely familiar with the distinctive purple portals adorned with runes in MW3 Zombies. These portals serve as convenient fast-travel hubs scattered across Urzikstan, the latest map featured in Zombies and Warzone. Interestingly, these stone doorways, embellished with purple symbols, don't appear on your MW3 tac map, leaving many players in the dark about their locations.

How do the portals work?
The purple teleportation portals in MW3 Zombies operate in a highly specific manner. When you shoot a purple rune, it begins to glow. By hitting three symbols in the correct sequence, you can unlock the Zero-Point Interdimensional Portal. To utilize this portal for fast travel to a predetermined location associated with the MW3 rune code, you must expend 1,000 essence points. This payment grants you a single use of the portal to rapidly reach the chosen destination.

It's crucial to understand that these destinations are not randomly selected. Alongside the purple portals, you'll discover diverse symbol codes scattered throughout the MW3 Zombies map.

These locations, marked with MWZ rune combinations, serve as points where the portal will transport you. Therefore, to reach a specific spot, you must activate a 3-rune code from that particular location. Memorizing these runes can be challenging, but fortunately, we have compiled some combinations below. Utilize these MW3 rune codes in conjunction with the purple portals to teleport yourself to your desired location.

Below is a screenshot from the interactive map made on the website https://wzhub.gg/ which allows you to bring up the overall tactical map of Urzikstan, then on the left hand side of the screen, filter down through showing only individual features on the map which is absolutely awesome.

All portal entrances and locations are shown below when filtering everything else out from the website WZHUB.GG:

It appears to be consistently updated whenever a new feature spawn location is discovered, which is immensely helpful given the impressive level of detail.

The portal ENTRANCES on their map is shown as the logo:

The portal EXITS on their map is shown as the logo:

Check out the full URZIKSTAN INTERACTIVE map here on their site https://wzhub.gg/map/urzikstan/mwz.

When you click on a specific EXIT location, it will give you the 3 digit rune code that needs to be shot in that exact order from a PORTAL ENTRANCE anywhere on the map, which when you go through, will inevitably bring you out at the desired location.

The 3 DIGIT RUNE CODE is basically like a phone number and instead of your call being diverted to that address, you whole body and atomic structure if being teleported there instead.

This feature proves invaluable for swiftly reaching current contract mission objectives on the opposite side of the map or navigating to zone 2 or zone 3 without exposing yourself to potential dangers. It not only saves time but also guarantees secure and instantaneous travel to your chosen destination, enhancing overall safety.
