Operation Deadbolt Aether Nests - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Hey guys,

Ever been driving around in Operation Deadbolt and seen a building with a bout of gas? Now, I am pretty sure it is not indigestion the building has, but something must be amiss inside those particular buildings the gas spews out of and they require further investigation. These particular buildings are what is known as AETHER NESTS

They appear on the mini map like so in the example below and are listed on the map LEGEND for easy identification:

These buildings will have a dark green gas seeping out the walls at the side of them and their roof's. The gas is only poisonous and damaging to you if you enter inside the building itself.

When you go inside these buildings, unless you have a gas mask equipped, your character will start coughing and the gas inside these stinky buildings will start to deal very tiny amounts of damage every few seconds to your health as you walkaround inside them. You may also wish you had a close peg for your nose as I am sure the smell is awful in there, as some character voice overs will let you know about.

As your health slowly chips away in the back ground without the gas mask while inside an AETHER NEST, there will be lots of zombies also spawning inside these buildings, which can make for some very close quarters combat when you least expect it. Some of these buildings are quite small and don't offer much room to train zombies in, so taking the horde outside and dealing with them there every so often before coming back in again, can be a good tactic before we can rid the building of the root cause of the "I've got gas problem".

How can we get rid of these gas clouds and cure the buildings indigestion? No it's not an anti-acid we need, its some major firepower, a gas mask (not mandatory) and popping giant cysts! So satisfying.

Aether Nest Intel

Across the map, Aether Nests scatter across the landscape, waiting to be uncovered. Whether consulting the Tac Map or simply keeping an eye out for buildings enveloped in green gas while exploring Urzikstan, players are in for an adrenaline-pumping adventure. Brace yourselves, as these nests not only attract hordes of zombies but also release a concentrated toxic gas that eats away at a players' health unless they're equipped with a trusty gas mask.

Venturing into the heart of the nest, players are in for a treat, with the chance to stumble upon Aether pickups – the coveted in-game currency that unlocks perks and upgrades weapons. Additionally, loot crates tantalizingly await discovery, promising rewards galore once the nest is successfully cleared.

However, the journey isn't without its challenges. For those lacking a gas mask in their inventory, a quick survey of the surroundings becomes essential. Gas masks can be found in loot crates around the nest or even within the nest itself, although spotting items amidst the gas haze can prove tricky.

Brave players may choose to forego the mask entirely, as surviving a few seconds in the gas is feasible before health reaches critical levels. While risky, this daring approach is a testament to the true grit of gamers.

As players gear up for Operation Deadbolt, where nest-clearing missions take centre stage, it's wise to familiarize themselves with the intricacies of Aether Nest clearance. So, don your gear, keep an eye out for those gas masks and dive head first into the heart of the action – because mastering Aether Nests is the key to conquering the challenges that lie ahead.

We Need to Close This Nest Down For Good....I Must IN-CYST!

Clearing Aether Nests may sound like a walk in the park, but it's all about finesse and strategy. Your mission: locate those bright yellow cysts lurking inside and blast them to smithereens to liberate the nest. Sounds easy, right? Well, hold onto your controllers because there's more to it.

Cysts can be tricky little things, hiding behind doors and snug corners, testing your sharpshooting skills. Equip that trusty gas mask to gain a few crucial extra seconds in the gas, helping you pinpoint those elusive cysts. But beware, as the footsteps of approaching zombies turn eerily silent amidst the gas-filled nests, setting the stage for some heart-pounding encounters.

The Dance of Destruction - Zombies Who Dare to Tango

To kick off the nest-clearing extravaganza, dash outside the nest, rounding up all the zombies for a grand showdown. Dispatch them with flair before diving back in to locate a few cysts. Here's the secret sauce: after obliterating every two or three cysts, make a swift exit, regroup, and obliterate any lingering undead threats nearby.

The number of cysts mirrors the size of the nest-occupying building, adding a layer of complexity to the challenge.

It's a rhythmic dance of destruction – annihilate a few cysts, clear out the nearby undead, repeat. Keep at it until the final cyst crumbles, and voila! The gas dissipates, and victory is yours.

Sweet Rewards Await

For your hard-fought victory, a slew of rewards awaits. Bag an XP award and a max ammo power-up, replenishing your arsenal for the next encounter. Worried about burning through ammo? Fear not! You'll be topped off once the nest is successfully cleared.

But wait, there's more! Unlock those Aether Crates within the nest and revel in a loot bonanza. From shiny new weapons to exclusive acquisitions, the crates offer a variety of rarities to enhance your gaming experience. You can even pick up some Perk-a-Colas inside these boxes at times if your lucky.

Once the gas has cleared the place will just need a quick spray of air freshener and your good to go as the gas will be totally clear and the building will.....need redecorated at some point.

Gear up, clear those nests, and dive into a world of loot and triumph in Urzikstan.

Thanks for reading as always.
