Hi guys,
we know that Shattered Veil has become a major hit with all the Call Of Duty Zombies fans out there and long may it continue. If your wondering how to do the main Easter egg for this map, we have got you locked, loaded and covered.
Its definitely worthwhile doing and doesn't take a huge amount of time. The only thing that takes up most of the time is getting the RAYGUN MARK II variants and completing their side quests along the way, as well as actually obtaining the RAY GUN MARK II initially.
However if the map is fun and enjoy it, like we do this one, we don't actually want it to end.
Let's do this and complete this map once and for all so we can hold our heads high, victorious!
Let's Spawn at Dawn and get this awn!
As soon as we spawn into the map, we will appear in the GARDEN POND area of the map.
From here, all we have to do is follow the OBJECTIVE markers on the screen which will initially say we need to "INVESTIGATE THE MANSION". All this requires in order to complete it is opening up the entire area around the mansion grounds and within the mansion itself by purchasing the door buys.
Once we have opened up the entire area and stuck our noses in for some quick recon, we can then head to the BANQUET HALL area, where we will see an ELEVATOR.
If you press the ELEVATOR, the control panel will be red and some sparks will be flying out of it. We then need to repair the elevator in order to progress down into the MAINFRAME CHAMBER area.
Our objective will then change to being REPAIR THE ELEVATOR.
In order to repair the ELEVATOR, we need 2 items, these are the:
- Fuse - This can be obtained from destroying the zombie on the upper floor of the LIBRARY area. He is propped up against the wall as soon as you take the ladders in the library to climb up to the corner section. This will also be highlighted with a ORANGE OBJECTIVE MARKER when you are investigating the mansion
- Motherboard - This will also be highlighted as an OBJECTIVE MARKER when investigating the mansion. It can be found in the DIRECTORS QUARTERS area of the map inside the COMPUTER, beside RICHTOFENS BED. When you see it, it will be glowing red and if you shoot it, the MOTHERBAORD ITEM will fall out and allow you to pick it up.
We then use these 2 parts to go around the back of the elevator shaft and hold the interact button to repair the damaged and missing parts of the circuit.
Once this has been completed, we try the elevator button one more time and it will then open. However a load of zombies who got stuck in the elevator will come charging out so take them down straight away.
Once they exit the elevator and you try to use it again, it will fall down the elevator shaft and crash below. This will then allow you to descend down into the MAINFRAME CHAMBER and an objective marker will appear for INVESTIGATE THE MAINFRAME CHAMBER.
This basically directs you to the SECURITY OVERLOOK area within the MAINFRAME CHAMBER area to where the PACK A PUNCH MACHINE is located. When you get to here and activate the Pack A Punch, we are good to go onto the next step of the Easter egg.
Ray Gun has triple the Fun
Next up, we actually need to get the RAY GUN MARK II. After we get this, we also need to obtain all 3 of its variants which are th e RAYGUN MARK II W, P and R variants.
Once you have got the RAYGUN MARK II and all 3 of its variants obtained, we can move onto the next stage.
Now for each variant we need to do a mini side quest for each ray gun variant.
RAY GUN MARK II W Mini Quest
This Raygun W variant is located in the SUPPLY DEPOT area, on the yellow workbench where it was crafted.
Simply pick it up, head back up the ELEVATOR SHAFT on the ZIPLINE and go into the BANQUET HALL area.
If you go to where the 3 DEER HEADS are on the wall, immediately to the left of these is a CARDBOARD BOX WITH A LAMP on top of it. Simply interact with this box and you will pickup the LAMP.
Then head over to the GRAND FOYER area and to the right of the JUGGERNOG PERK MACHINE, there will be a small hole in the wall which is the placement for a missing lamp. Strangely enough, you seem to be carrying a spare lamp, like any good electrician in a creepy mansion should be doing, as they are always on the blink.
Hold the interact button to place the lamp on the wall and it will start a BLINKING LIGHT style game, similar to SIMON SAYS, where the lights on the wall will blink a particular number of times and in different orders. All you have to do is go up to them and interact with them in the same order they blinked in.
You will need to do this a total of 3 times before a door will open and let you into a room with a LARGE PAINTING in it, the area being called the "Distillery".
To the left of this large painting, there is a COMPUTER which you can interact with. Interact and it will start a SOUL BOX OBJECTIVE where you need to get kills only with the RAYGUN MARK II W near this painting and it will absorb the zombie souls into it.
When enough zombie souls have been collected, it will take about 5 to 10 zombie souls roughly, a PORTAL will appear where the PAINTING was originally. Simply pass through this portal and it will take you to a hidden room called the "Luminal Distillery" area.
In here you will find a GHOSTLY MAN who is looking for a DRINK. Water is obviously not what his taste buds are craving for, so lets get him a real drink from a bar and bring it back to him.
From here, we need to head up to the STUDY AREA and look for a BELL somewhere around the room. This BELL will be used to place on the BAR at the OVERLOOK area upstairs. There are around 8 locations known so far as to the location of where the BELL itself will spawn, usually in the room with the WALL GUN BUY in it.
Below are some of these locations the BELL can spawn in the images below:
Now when we have obtained the BELL, we need to equip the BRAIN ROT AMMO onto our gun, which can be done by purchasing it from the ARSENAL MACHINE.
Once we have it equipped, we head up to the OVERLOOK area and in one of the corners, there is a BAR area. Go up to the BAR COUNTER and hold the INTERACT button. This will then put down the BELL on the bar countertop.
What you need to do here is kill zombies with the BRAIN ROT AMMO until one of them turns and becomes your friend.
When you have one under your control, RING THE BELL by interacting with it on the bar countertop. The friendly zombie will jump over the bar and grab a DRINK, then unscrew the lid, tag a swig of it.....then explode.....letting you know this is the good stuff.
The DRINK will then appear on the BAR and be able to be picked up. Simply interact with it and the DRINK is yours.
Now we have the DRINK, we need to head back to the LIMINAL DISTILLERY area where we will be placing the SENTINEL ARTEFACT onto a PLINTH in the middle of the room, up against the wall.
When you do this, it will spawn in a MANGLER who is PROTECTED BY A BLUE BUBBLE. This BLUE BUBBLE means you can only damage him using the BLUE RAY GUN BULLETS, which is obviously of course, is the RAYGUN MARK II W VARIANTS type of bullet.
If for some reason you cannot place down the ARTEFACT onto the plinth, it means the next round is a special round and you will have to get through it first and complete it. Then it should allow you to place the artefact down on this stand.
When the MANGLER spawned in, who is called GIOSSIS, simply shoot him with the RAY GUN MARK II W variant until his shield goes down, then start to shoot him in the head to inflict maximum damage. His shield will come and go 3 or 4 times during this battle.
Once you finally destroy him, he will drop a MAX AMMO for you as a reward. Then if you go over to the SENTINEL ARTEFACT, you will notice the man who asked you for a drink floating above it. He will float for a second or two, then he will burst into energy and it will be absorbed into the sentinel artefact.
After this happens you can pick up he sentinel artefact again and move onto the next RAY GUN MINI SIDE QUEST WOO HOO!
RAY GUN MARK II R Mini Quest
This Raygun R variant is located in the main spawn area, the GARDEN POND, on the yellow workbench where it was crafted. With this weapon in hand, we then need to go over to the LIBRARY area.
In the ground floor of the LIBRARY, you will notice there is a large PAINTING also on the wall. If you look to the left of this painting, there is another COMPUTER just like the one you found in the DISTILLERY room with its painting.
When we activate this computer, it will start another mini OBJECTIVE to charge this luminal portal up with zombie souls. Stay near the painting and kill 5-10 zombies near the PAINTING and their souls will go as YELLOW PULSES into the PAINTING.
Once completed, this will then open up the painting as a portal.
We now need to go around the map and collect 3 items, which can only be seen while the AETHER SHROUD FIELD UPGRADE is active.
The first item we need to try and find is the ID BADGE. This can be found in 1 of the 3 following locations and can only be seen these 3 items while in AETHER SHROUD.
- Fireplace in the STUDY area - to the right of the arm chair that has the dust sheeting draped over it
- Fireplace in the EAST FOYER area - in the room with the SWITCH for the trap.
- Fireplace in the BANQUET HALL area - to the left of the elevator shaft
Once you have picked this up, we then need to look for an AUDIO LOG. This can also spawn in 2 different places around the map and these are:
- In the LIBRARY area - on the desk directly in front of the PAINTING that leads to the LIMINIAL LIBRARY.
- In the OVERLOOK area - to the left of the BAR in this upper section of the GRAND FOYER. It is on the desk next to the bar.
The third and final part we need to find, is the LEDGER. This will be in 1 of 2 locations and again, like the other parts, only viewable in AETHER SHROUD:
- In the STUDY area - on the desk to the right hand side of the fireplace in this room
- In the EAST FOYER area - upstairs on the landing, just before you go through the doors to the OVERLOOK area from here
Once we have all 3 of the items while we were in the AETHER SHROUD, we need to head back to the LIBRARY area.
