Hi guys,

Here is the full guide on how to upgrade the shockingly awesome, electrifying Tesla Gun within The Final Reich Zombies map in Call Of Duty World War II. Upgrading the Tesla Gun to one of its 4 kick ass alter ego's will give you some serious fire power against the zombie hordes.

The 4 upgrades to the Tesla Gun will turn it into one of the following:



  • Reaper
  • Midnight
  • Blood Thirst
  • Hurricane


I'm not trying to make it awkward for you, but there is a tiny pre-requisite before we can upgrade the Tesla Gun, which is:

  • Have completed the "Activate and defend central lightning rod" objective

This stage can be found in Part 2 of the casual Easter guide where the player must defend the tower from being destroyed.

Now lets get down to business....


Upgrading to the "Midnight" Tesla Gun



In order to upgrade to this gun, we will need to obtain a Brenner head. This can be done by annihilating the flame thrower zombies that spawn into the map at times and really turn up the heat on this map. After you gun him down and roast him like a marshmallow, pick up his head which falls off and left on the ground.....don't worry he won't be needing it anymore.

Pick it up then head over to the Courtyard area. Here at the gate that you open to get to the courtyard, which costs 1500 JOLTS, we need to open this gate and as soon as we enter the area, turn left 90 degrees and you will see a stone statue. Equip the Brenner head and use the aim down the site to activate its mystical powers which shines purple on the statue and it will explode into a million pieces.


This will then leave behind a measly stump of stone where it used to be along with a flat power core that needs charged. The charging will be done with the Tesla Gun, simply aim at the core and shoot it and it will come flying into the map and land on the ground. Pick this energised core up and place it in the S-Mine Trap core, just to the right of the statue in this area.


Now what you want to do is get lots of normal zombie kills with this trap that throws up bouncing betty's out of the ground, handing out huge amounts of damage to anyone that gets in its path, dead or undead....stay back from the explosions as they can hurt you too...duh! Train a lot of zombies into a line and then lure them into this area and activate the trap which costs 1000 JOLTS. Always watch behind you in this area when the trp is active as the stairs just behind you is a spawn area for zombies and they can come thiack and fast up these stairs if your not careful.


Once the trap has finished and you have killed enough zombies, you should be able to lift the charged power core from the trap core and carry it down to the Electric Trap in the Laboratory Area. The power core is then placed to the left of the weapon forge machine that glows yellow as shown in the picture below:



This will then activate a health bar above it once it is in place and you will have to protect it from the zombies attacking it. Simply defend it like you defended the tower and the central lightning rod. Once a certain amount of time has passed, the weapon forge machine will spit out a TESLA GUN BARREL for you to pickup. Hold the use button to pick it up and then head up to where you originally made the TESLA GUN in the machine on the COMMAND ROOM's top floor.


When you get there part of the machine will be raised simply go up and press the use button on this side to create the new TESLA MOD. It will say hold to create MIDNIGHT. Put the gun into the machine and a short time later it will spit out the newly upgraded gun for you to use. Its the green gun that fires elliptical bolts of green energy into zombies.





Upgrading to the "Hurricane" Tesla Gun

Hold onto your hats its going to get windy out there! To get the hurricane tesla gun upgrade, we need to get another power core. To do this, we need to use a BOMBER ZOMBIE to blow up the grey panel that is on the stairs that leads to the top floor in the LABRATORY AREA just above the electric trap.


You simply need to wait at the top of the stairs until a bomber zombies trundles his way up and you just have to run into him on the stairs to detonate himself and blow the crap out of the grey panel. When he explodes, the power core will fall to the ground and can be picked up.

When you pick it up, if your not fit like me, don't worry as you will not have far to leg it to the place where you need to place the core. Its in the centre of the actual ELECTRIC TRAP it needs inserted into. When inserted, we need to lure the larger, taller zombies with spikes on their arms into the trap to kill them. It costs 1000 JOLTS to activate the trap and you must kill the spikey zombies in pairs of 2, they cannot be killed individually. 3 sets of pairs seems to do the trick so to be on the safe side say 6 of the larger spikey zombies need zapped to charge the core.


Once the core has been charged, simply pick it up and then go to the weapon forge in the LABRATORY AREA where you got the Tesla Gun Barrel for the Midnight upgrade, but this time you will place the charged energy core on the right hand side of the machine.


This again activates the defend the power core objective and just like the last time, after a short space of time, the machine will spit out the gun barrel piece for the Tesla Gun. Then we simply repeat the procedure as we done for the midnight tesla gun upgrade. Hold the use button to pick it up and then head up to where you originally made the TESLA GUN in the machine on the COMMAND ROOM's top floor.



When you get there part of the machine will be raised simply go up and press the use button on this side to create the new TESLA MOD. It will say hold to create HURRICANE. Put the gun into the machine and a short time later it will spit out the newly upgraded gun for you to use. Its the purple gun that fires purple bolts of energy out surrounded by circles of energy

Upgrading to the "Blood Thirst" Tesla Gun

If you were a vampire you would love this gun, as they always thirsty for blood. Like the other tesla gun upgrades, as you may have noticed, they are not that difficult to actually get.....well for a seasoned zombie slayer such as yourself....but they do make great additions to your arsenal in the game and help with zombie ass whooping from time to time when the going gets tough.

First up in order to get the BLOOD THIRST upgrade, we need to smash some lights. The firs tone we need to…..spark.....off this stage of the upgrade for this tesla gun, is to shoot the lamp post in front of the statue in the courtyard area shown below with the TESLA GUN. Then when it starts to spark, you switch to a normal gun and shoot it, doing so will naturally, make it explode into a shower of cool sparks.


This will then set off a chain of lights that need to be shot with a normal gun that appear all over the map, in the mortuary, the village area, courtyard (on the sides of buildings), in the sewers, command room etc. These lights that need to be shot have a weird green tinge glow to them as well as the yellow, which makes them quite hard to spot so best shooting nearly all the lights you can find but focusing in on the green glowing ones.



Its best to watch the path in GregFPS's video below starting from the first light that was shot by the TESLA GUN, trust me he makes it so easy, starting at 7mins 55 seconds:



Once all the lights have been shot, you should end up with the last one being in the belly of MORGUE AREA, you will find the uncharged power core lying in the middle of where the trap area is. This is where the trap with the spikes come out of the floor to spear zombies with and is called the MORGUE TRAP and costs a 1000 JOLTS pay cheque..



Now with the trap activated, you will need to kill an entire round of PEST ZOMBIES in order to charge this power core up.


Once enough zombie pests have been killed by the trap you can pick up the canister from the morgue basement and take it up the stairs that lead down into it, go through the doorway in front of the top of the stairs and take an immediate left again where there will be another weapon forge in that room. Place this charged canister in the left hand section of the forge and  repeat all the same sections from the previous upgrades:

  • Defend the power core while zombies attack for certain period of time until the weapon forge fires out the TESLA GUN BARREL




  • Take the TESLA GUN and its newly created TESLA GUN PIECE to the COMMAND ROOM upstairs and give them machine back your current Tesla Gun, which will then let the machine craft the BLOOD THIRST TESLA GUN upgrade



Simply pick up the Blood Thirst and enjoy a nicely earned zombie killing spree with it.




Upgrading to the "Reaper" Tesla Gun

When at war with zombies, its time to "reap" the rewards, which upgrading to the REAPER Tesla Gun gives bucket loads of. This one requires you to be in the room where the PACK A PUNCH machine is located and you will need to get one of the taller zombies that have spikes all over them that charge, to run and smash into a particular section of a wall which the empty power core you are looking for is contained within.

To see this location your best watching the video below from 11 mins 38 seconds:



When the charging zombie crashes into the wall, simply pick up the power core and place it in the trap core that is facing the wall he smashed into to reveal the core. When the core has been picked up, put it in the trap core within the PACK A PUNCH room and activate the SAW TRAP at a cost of 1000 JOLTS. 




What we need to kill this time is 3 pairs of the bomb zombies with the SAW BLADE TRAP which is not as easy as it sounds as the bomb zombies go off randomly at any time, either if your too close or a stray bullet hits them or even if a fly farts near them, the explosives are very unstable and they go BOOM! big time. Best trick is to throw a jack in the box in the middle of the trap and when two come into that area, hit the trap each time. Keep repeating until 3 pairs of them have been destroyed.



When the core has been fully recharged, take the core back to the weapon forge machine located in the MORGUE that you used earlier to create the BLOOD THIRST UPGRADE and attach it to the right hand side of the machine.

Then do the same sequence of events to charge it up like all the other upgrades which is: 

  • Defend the power core while zombies attack for certain period of time until the weapon forge fires out the TESLA GUN BARREL


  • Take the TESLA GUN and its newly created TESLA GUN PIECE to the COMMAND ROOM upstairs and give them machine back your current Tesla Gun, which will then let the machine craft the REAPER TESLA GUN upgrade

The Right Hand Of God

Once the Tesla gun has been picked up from the weapon forge table from the room upstairs in the command room, we can head back down into the Emperor's Chambers. In this room we will go up to the RIGHT HAND OF GOD statue / contraption and examine it.....I felt like Indiana Jones a little bit at this point.....get me a hat and a whip quick, oh and cue the music!



Once the RIGHT HAND OF GOD has been examined, we will need to re-route power to certain points in the map. We need to head to the room upstairs in the command room where the tesla gun was crafted. Once in this room you will see on the wall circuit style breakers which need activated in order to start the POWER GRID.




Fire up the power grid and when you do, you will notice below each of the numbered boxes, the lights will glow RED, GREEN and BLUE. These numbers correspond to power stations dotted around the map, simply take note of the colour that appears under each number and we will have to go to these power stations, change the dial on them to the colour displayed here for them.


These colours are totally random under which station they appear under with each play through so the one displayed in the picture may not be the sequence you see on your screen. Lets get to these power stations soldier.....for the station 01 you will track far and wide, treacherous terrain you will traverse and.....actually its right beside this power grid box to the right!


Power Station 1 Location

The easiest one to find, simply found beside the POWER GRID switch to the immediate right of it. Simply change it to in this case RED by holding down the use button on it to switch the circuit.



Power Station 2 Location

The second power station is located just before the PACK A PUNCH area in the MORGUE. This instance its changed to RED to match the grid switches colours.




Power Station 3 Location

Just past the PACK A PUNCH machine out towards the doorway that takes you to the DOCKS area. This station is changed to GREEN for this one.



Power Station 4 Location

Last one is right by the PUB area near the TOWER and is set to BLUE in this instance.



Once you have activated all the power stations your objectives will be updated to "Activate and defend central lightning rod". This is a timed event and if you don't activate the lightning rod, you will need to repeat the steps again to reroute the power and match up the colours with the stations on the grid board.


Head over to the TOWER area and underneath the tower you will see the lightning rod which needs activated by pulling the lever attached to it. Do this and zombies will start attacking in a tight confined space with the lightning rod as their target, simply defend it. When the lever is pulled you will hear an AIR HORN blow out letting the zombies know its dinner time and your the main course. The lever will have a health bar above it while this is going on so keep an eye on it and be careful.




If the lever is destroyed. don't worry you just simply have to repeat the steps to get to here again and it will reappear. When the attack has finished second air horn will blare out and you will have to go to the two pillars at the front of the tower where you  will find another lever at each one.

You will need to activate both levers and defend them both from zombies attacking them. This bit is slightly more trickier than the last as there are two points which you have to defend. Each box will have its own health bars. The air horn will blare out again and stop when the attack is over.



When the wave is over, the screen will shake and a huge flash of white light will fill the map, as well as the air horn stopping and you will have completed this step.




Now you need to head back into the Emperor's Chambers to activate the RIGHT HAND, then go over to the LEFT HAND OF GOD and inspect it to activate the stages required to complete its challenges....yes this god does have two hands.






Righty Lefty

In the Emperor's Chambers find the  left hand of god statue and inspect it to set in motion its sequence of events.


Once you have activated the Left Hand of God's statue, you need to run outside into the Village area and look to the skies as there will be death from above. You will see a huge Zeppelin floating around the map with yellow lights underneath it. 





As it circles the map it will start to shoot at you and you will have to shoot certain points on it in order to get it to drop a GENERATOR / UBERSCHNALLE which will contain a BATTERY within it. These points will be the lights that you see underneath it. They do take a battering these lights so some high powered weaponry with lots of bullets, such as an LMG, would work to your advantage here.





When the light explodes, it will fire the generator to the ground somewhere on the map and you should trace where it will land by following its trajectory. You then need to kill zombies near the generator to charge it with zombie souls. Once this has been charged completely, it will leave behind a battery for you to pickup. Pick it up by pressing the USE button on it.

When you pick up the battery you will not be able to shoot and be a lot slower than normal, I thought I was pretty fit till I picked this thing up and it nearly broke my back. Simply take it down to the LEFT HAND OF GOD in the EMPEROR's CHAMBER and install it onto this statue / contraption.





Now you need to get another 2 more generators down from the Zeppelin and their corresponding batteries. Simply repeat the steps to get the generator as before shooting the lights and charging up the generator with zombie souls to reveal the battery. It might say when installing the batteries to "Survive until the Zeppelin Returns", maybe the guys up there went on a tea break or to grab a cheeseburger before coming back to try an annihilate you, bad guys need tea breaks too right? 


Until it arrives simply just keep killing the zombie hordes and then repeat the steps when it arrives, taking the second battery down to the LEFT HAND OF GOD machine.

When we get to the 3RD GENERATOR FROM THE ZEPPELIN, it will trick you the first time around as when you shoot it down and go to charge it with souls, it will actually be pulled up toward the zeppelin again and reattached to it. This is essentially to make you sweat a little longer as you knew yourself it would not be as easy as this right?

You just then have to wait for it to return one more time (4th Time) and keep shooting it to get the final generator, of which it will let you have in the end. If you do not get the generator down within a set time the Zeppelin will disappear, but fear not it will come back very shortly for you to try again.



Once you finally get the third battery, simply install it in the EMPEROR's CHAMBER on the LEFT HAND OF GOD and you will get a new objective called "Find the notes required to activate the Voice of God"
