Archon Easter Egg Guide Part 2 - Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies

This map is triple torch-ure
For our next challenge we need to complete, we will need 2 things before we can proceed. 




First up is 3 MOLOTOV COCKTAILS, which can be purchased as a wall buy on the map or you can simply make your own from the CRAFTING TABLE locations.




Secondly, we will need the RING OF FIRE FIELD UPGRADE equipped on our loadout, which can be easily changed if you haven't originally had it equipped from the start of the game. To do this, simply go to the game menu and choose the class that has the RING OF FIRE FIELD UPGRADE enabled on it and you are good to go.

Once we have these 2 things attained, we can now proceed to light 3 TORCHES that are currently unlit within the map. 

Head over to the DEREAILMENT are of the map and you will find the 3 torches locations.

TORCH LOCATION 1
On the right hand side of the DEREAILMENT area, facing the AMMO CRATE. It is attached to a very large and pointy looking RED CRYSTAL sticking up into the air. Simply equip a molotov and throw it at the unlit torch to light it up.




TORCH LOCATION 2
Just behind the location of the first torch, in the same area, you will notice there is another torch sticking up into the air that is attached to the rail carriage that has tipped over onto its side. You will see some spikey red crystals again at the back of the carriage. 



Repeat the same process and light the unlit torch with a Molotov cocktail.


TORCH LOCATION 3
The last torch location is in the TRAIN CARRIAGE in the DERAILMENT area. It is attached to the wall of the carriage that is crashed on the hill at an angle. Use the Molotov cocktail to light this last torch.






When this last torch has been lit, you will see a RED ORB fly out from the last torch and head toward near where the OBELISK is located on top of the tipped over train carriages in the centre of the DEREAILMENT area. 

In the corner of this area you will see the RED ORB glowing and it will be asking you to SACRIFICE A PACK A PUNCHED WEAPON to it. It doesn't ask for much like does it? 





The good news is there is already a PACK A PUNCHED WALL BUY weapon in this area in the form of the HONEST ABE DOUBLE BARRELED SHOTGUN that can be purchased just to the left of where the RED ORB is located, on the side of the tipped over rail carriage.





Purchase the Pack A Punched weapon, or get rid of one you might already have and no longer want, then offer it up to the RED ORB. When you do, it will spawn in a STURMKRIEGER which you will need to kill. Once he is obliterated, we can move onto the next stage.

This then activates the next stage of the challenge.


Sacrificing everything
Now the STURMKRIEGER is destroyed, hop on the tipped over rail carriage in the DERAILMENT are and hold the use button on the OBLEISK to activate the TRIAL OF SACRIFICE challenge.




You will notice a timer starting again on the left hand side of the screen with the text "Charge the surrounding Obelisks"




We need to stand on top of the tipped over train carriage and get kills to first charge the OBELISK floating on top of the train carriage with red glowing zombie souls, until it mentions we have obtained a FULL POWER reward.  You will notice the RED ENERGY from the zombies shooting toward the OBELISK like lightning bolts.





Once you see the FULL POWER reward, this means that OBELISK is fully charged and we can move onto charging the other 4 OBELISKS (In  solo mode) that are located around this train carriage on the ground.

This is where the  RING OF FIRE FIELD UPGRADE comes into play that we have equipped.







Go over to one of the other 4 OBELISKS in the area and activate the RING OF FIRE UPGRADE beside the OBELISK, making sure the OBELISK in within the ring of fire circle that the field upgrade has generated. 




Simply kill zombies with the RED GLOW on them and watch their energy shoot toward that particular obelisk you are charging. You will know the obelisk has fully charged when you see a beam of energy permanently connecting from this obelisk to the one on top of the train carriage that is tipped over in the centre of the area. It takes around 7 to 8 zombie kills to charge each obelisk.

Once an obelisk has been fully charged, we need to jump back up to the obelisk on top of the train carriage and kill zombies again while standing beside it. Their energy will shoot towards it and charge it again, then you will be rewarded with another full power. Then use this full power to activate another ring of fire around an obelisk you have not yet charged.

Keep doing this rinse and repeat process until you have charged all surrounding obelisks and all energy beams are shooting towards the central obelisk on top of the train carriage.




In SOLO MODE this needs only 4 charged obelisks and 4 beams of energy connecting to the central obelisk. Once this has been completed, you will get loads of rewards spat out at you from the obelisk on top of the train carriage and you have completed this challenge.


Zombies are the symbol of my affection
Now we need to head over to the OBELISK that is located in the MERCHANT ROAD area near the Pack A Punch machine, beside the armoured car. We will need the SHOVEL for this part however, so make sure you have visited your local DIY stored and picked one up, or simply one of the ones that are lying around the map.









In the area around the OBELISK, you will see numerous DIG SITES. Dig all these sites up until you find the RED ORB again that seems to be playing hide and seek with us the whole time in this map.

When you find the RED ORB, he will shoot onto the back wall behind where the OBELISK is located and start showing you 3 random symbols the first time it appears. Run up to the orb and press the use button in order to activate the challenge.


The number three is good enough for me
Once we have activated the challenge, the first stage will make the orb show us 3 symbols appearing in a specific order. All you need to do here is write down the order the 3 symbols appear in.






Once you have them written down or memorised, as my memory is terrible a pen and paper is always nearby, it will after a brief period of time make RUNES appear on the ground with symbols inside them. You will also notice a timer again on the left hand side of the screen for 1 minute in which we have been allotted to complete this task within to "Complete the sequence".






We need to secure 3 of these RUNES, and they need to be secured in the order they were shown to use by the red orb. So as you approach each RUNE on the ground, check its symbol, if its the 1st symbol we were shown secure it, then secure the 2nd RUNE with the  2nd symbol the red orb showed us, then the 3rd.....easy!




Once these 3 symbols have been charged up, it will activate a new TRIAL to be completed, which can be totally random things such as:
  • Movement causes damage
  • Don't take damage for 1 minute
  • If you move you take damage
  • Vanquish enemies to regain health etc.

All you need to do is complete the trial in the 1 minute time slot and you will be ready to progress onto the next challenge.


Four! I don't mean the golf term, I am putting it in SYMBOL terms
Now we simply need to repeat the whole process again as the previous step, only this time around, there will now be 4 SYMBOLS to remember and write down the specific order they appear in.

Then once the RED ORB has shown you the symbols, RUNES will appear again on the ground which you will need to secure again in the same order you were shown the 4 SYMBOLS.

Then this will activate another random TRIAL that must be completed within the 1 minute allotted time slot.


Bunch of fives
Now we need to repeat this whole process one more time only.....I know you guessed it already.....there are now 5 SYMBOLS being shown to you by the RED ORB you must remember in sequence, then secure the same RUNES in the same order they were shown to you.




Why this red orb can't do its own dirty work I don't know but I do know that once this final step is completed, we can then activate the last part of this whole Easter egg build up, as it will then allow us to walk up to the OBELISK and activate the "Trial of mindfulness".


Mindfulness over matter
When we activate the TRIAL OF MINDFULNESS, it will cause a lot of RUNES to spawn in on the ground. All you need to do is charge up these RUNES, while NOT I repeat NOT, get your finger off the trigger, NOT DAMAGING ZOMBIES around you.





One tip is to use Zaballa to stun the enemies on one side of the map, then run to the furthest away rune and charge it, along with another few if you can until it charges back up again.




Once all RUNES have been secured, the OBELISK will spit out another ton of rewards for you to collect.





This will then reactivate the PORTAL near the pack a punch machine and will take you to the final boss fight on VERCANNA'S HOME SOIL.
