Archon Map Layout "Merchant Road, Debris Field, The Spike, Storehouse" Areas - Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies

Hi guys,

here is the map layout for the Merchant Road / Debris Field /The Spike /Storehouse area in the Archon zombies map for Call Of Duty Vanguard. 

The MERCHANT ROAD area links almost all area's of the map together through a central road that runs through the middle of all of the areas. It has a few areas and access links to the TEMPLE area are now closed off from the map Terra Maledicta, which can make it a bit more difficult to escape from a large train of zombies in this area, as it creates a bottle neck at times in higher rounds when too many zombies occupy this road. It fills up quickly and can be hard to escape from if you haven't opened up the map fully.

The SPIKE area has a key part of assembling the Pack A Punch machine in this map, as it contains 1 of 2 MACHINE PARTS that it needs in order to be reactivated. The other machine part is located in the DERAILMENT area. Assembling the Pack A Punch machine and completing its ritual will also open up the RITUAL BARRIERS that are located around the map.

The DEBRIS FIELD is an area which has become more significant in this map as it now houses the DECIMATOR SHIELD, a RED ORB challenge, a PARCHED FOUNTAIN and the TRIAL OF RESILIENCE within this very small area.

Merchant Road and Storehouse points of Interest:
  • Red Orb Symbol Challenge - this is part of the Easter egg and 1 of 3 challenges set by the red orb / Obelisks in the map. To get the RED ORB in this area, you will need the SHOVEL to DIG UP SITES around this area to make it appear and fly towards the wall. For this challenge, there are 3 stages to it. The first stage is to remember the order of 3 symbols it shows you on the wall, then 6 symbols will appear on the ground in the immediate area. Simply secure the RUNES with the symbol on them that have appeared in the order that the red orb showed you. You will then need to do this a second time, where there will then be 4 symbols to remember their order and secure their rune's, then there will be a final third stage where there will be 5 symbols that need secured in a particular order. Once this last step is completed, you can then ACTIVATE THE OBELISK and the trial called "TRIAL OF MINDFULNESS"






  • Obelisk Location - 1 of 3, this obelisk triggers the challenge called "TRIAL OF MINDFULNESS" where a player must secure RUNE's while following some restrictions set on them by the Obelisk. This restriction is AVOID DAMAGING ZOMBIES in order to secure the rune's


  • Ritual Barriers - need to complete gathering the 2 Pack A Punch MACHINE PARTS and putting it back together, then completing the challenge to unlock these gates

Debris Field points of Interest:
  • DECIMATOR SHIELD - Once you come back from the portal after activating the Pack A Punch machine, you will now be able to start a trial to release the DECIMATOR SHIELD, which is needed if you want to progress in the main Easter egg for this map. Sacrifice the 3 items the red orb requires and you will then get access to the shield. You will need this to complete the OBELISK challenge in this area which is the "TRIAL OF RESILIENCE". You will use the DECIMATOR SHIELD to destroy SYPHONECORES, fill them with blood in a chalice and return the blood to the PARCHED FOUNTAIN in the DEBRIS field which will appear when you pick this up and activate the trial.




  • Red Orb Challenge - where you need to find and retrieve 3 CURSED ITEMS and return it to the portal. Each item you pick up is cursed remember, so naturally comes a bit of bad luck with each item. The 3 items you need to pick up a CURSED SKULL in the upstairs of the BAZAAR, a CURSED OFFICERS HAT in the TENTS area of the EAST SPRING and a CURSED FEMUR bone that needs to be dug up in the DERAILMENT area with the SHOVEL. Each item you pick up will impose some restrictions on what you can do while returning it to this orb as a sacrifice, such as "Hip fire only", "Reload disabled" etc. to name a few. Once the 3 items have been sacrificed, you will then be able to activate the Obelisks "TRIAL OF RESILIENCE" challenge.



  • Parched Fountain - Appears when you have obtained the DECIMATOR SHIELD and started the TRIAL OF RESILIENCE. You destroy SYPHONECORES with the DECIMATOR SHIELD BLAST attack, then fill a chalice up with its blood and run over each time and pour the blood collected into this fountain to fill it up. 




  • Obelisk 1 of 3, activates the TRIAL OF RESILIENCE challenge

  • Venomous Vigour Perk Fountain
  • Fast travel portal back to TEMPLE area costs 500 to use

  • 2 Syphoncore spawn locations - part of the TRIAL OF RESILIENCE that needs completed by destroying the Syphoncores with the Decimator shields DECIMATOR BLAST, then filling your chalice up with blood and pouring it into the PARCHED FOUNTAIN in this area
  • Shovel pickup
  • Red Crystal spawn locations
  • Glowing red crystals that need shot in order to reveal the red orb
  • Wall gun buy in the form of MG42 the which costs 1500
  • Ammo box

  • Pack A Punch Machine Part 1 of 2 - pick this up in order to complete the RITUAL to complete and assemble the Pack A Punch Machine. The second part you are looking for is on top of the rail carriage that has toppled over in the DEREAILMENT area


  • 1 Syphoncore spawn location - part of the TRIAL OF RESILIENCE that needs completed by destroying the Syphoncores with the Decimator shields DECIMATOR BLAST, then filling your chalice up with blood and pouring it into the PARCHED FOUNTAIN in the DEBRIS FIELD area
  • Perk fountain in the form of FIEDISH FORTITUDE - INCREASES HEALTH
  • Gun wall buy in the form of the KAR98K which costs 1500
  • Speaking stone location

Hey guys,

here is the map layout for the Merchant Road, Debris Field, The Spike, Storehouse areas in the Call Of Duty Vanguard Zombies map Terra Maledicta. 

In my travels along the Merchant Road in this map, I did not see much trade happening....I did do a lot of running away from zombies hordes on this road who wanted to take a bite out of my brain with their teeth, like it was an apple.....so I cannot say that was a fair trade on my part.....maybe I'm not a good trader or negotiator?

I also thought I was hallucinating, due to the heat in this desert map, when I seen the DECIMATOR SHIELD floating in the middle of the Merchant Road area, with two big gnarly eyes staring at me on the inside of it. Could have been a mirage due to lack of water and hydration available on this map...either way I thought I was going nuts.

There is a nice little Store House we can chill in for a rest in this area, which contains a radio with some more of Von List's propaganda belting out of its speakers.....yawwwwwnnnn! Find me a radio that belts out some cracker and beezer tunes so I can dance all night and day through this zombie apocalypse....shaking my booty till there's nothing left for the zombies to bite!
