WOLF BOW UPGRADE in Der Eisendrache zombies - Call Of Duty Black Ops 3

Der Eisendrache Map Layout: Main Spawn Area -- Outside Castle Gate -- Main Gate Courtyard Area -- Trophy Room -- Upper Courtyard -- Living Quarters -- Armory -- Mission Control -- Family Crypt -- Undercroft -- Teleporter Room -- Rocket Platform --

Easter Egg Guide Walkthrough: -- Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3 -- Part 4 --

Hi Guys,

here is the Der Eisendrache bow guide that allows you to upgrade the Wrath of the Ancients bow to the WOLF BOW. As with all the bows....your probably thinking I am sounding like a broken record by now.......you need to have obtained the Wrath of the Ancients Bow first in its most basic form. To get the original bow is very easy, simply fill up the 3 Stone Dragons heads with as many zombies souls as they can take before they turn to stone and smash into a smithereens.

Then you simply head down to the room in the undercroft that has a tomb / coffin room with a knight in it, Just behind him you will see the bow floating ready to be picked up once all 3 dragons heads are completed. You will see above the archway where you collect the bow the status of the dragons heads, which ones have been completed and which ones still need to be done.

Anyhoo back to the WOLF BOW....

Step 1 - Art is as deadly as an arrow

Around the Der Eisendrache castle is some lovely artwork hanging on the walls.....it is their to be admired, but you can also interact with it, which is what will be needed in order to upgrade to the WOLF BOW.

In total there are 4 paintings that you can interact with around the castle:

  • One in the bell tower
  • One in the room just past the mine shaft
  • One in the upstairs of the church
  • One just past the trophy room

Each one of the paintings listed above needs to be activated in a certain order. You will  notice that if activated in the correct order, 2 dog symbols will appear on each of the paintings and stay there, accompanied by a guitar strumming noise. If you mess up the order of these don't worry, you can simply restart the sequence again. Each play through is totally random the order in which these paintings will need activated in. Its a matter of simply trial and error.

Step 2 - Package Pickup

Once you have activated all of the paintings, head down to the basement and where the symbol of the dog is shown on the wall, will crumble and reveal the UPGRADE QUEST to forge the new arrow. Once you have picked up this quest, you need to head over to the ROCKET TEST FACILITY.

When here, look up high on the cliff above where the blast doors are in this area and with your bow and arrow, shoot the RED FLAG that you can see on the cliff top. When you hit it correctly, it will make a skull roll down the cliff and land on the rocket pad area. Pick this skull up and then teleport back to the main castle and place it in the DOG BOX in the keepers shrine in the basement.

Brace yourself and have a change of underwear handy, when you place the skull in the dog box, a ghostly wolf will spawn, wondering why the hell you woke him up.

Step 3 - Tail the Wolf

When the wolf spawns, he will start to move and this is your queue to follow him. At a certain point he will stop still and start digging up the ground beneath him. When he is finished digging, there will be a weird blue glow from that area and you will need to collect zombie souls into it. When no more zombie souls will squeeze into the dug hole, then you know you have completed this task.

When the souls have finished being collected, go over to the hole and hold the use button and it will cause the wolf to continue walking around. He will dig a total of 3 times before he ends up underground in front of the PACK A PUNCH machine, each time, repeating the steps of collecting the zombie souls where he had dug.

Step 4 - This walls a load of paws

When step 3 is completed, the wolf will stand up on its hind legs pressing against and facing a wall with a crack in it looking up. What you need to do now is activate the ANTI GRAVITY in this room, which is done by standing on all of the blue squares on the floor that is around the pyramid in this room. When the anti gravity is active, you will notice a hole in the wall way up top near the ceiling with dog / wolf symbols on it. Simply wall run up the wall and shoot an arrow into this hole

If your arrow has landed correctly, a small panel will come out in front of the hole in the wall that you can stand on. Once standing on this panel, face directly into the hole / crack in the wall and press and hold the use button. This will activate a very friendly skeleton who will come to life briefly and hand you your newly re-forged arrow.

Step 5 - Time to Shrine

Now what you want to do is take the re-forged arrow down to the undercroft and where the Gatekeeper shrines are, place it on the one that has the 2 wolf symbols on it. Then like all the other arrows, collect zombie souls into the arrow until no more will go in. It takes around 20 zombies to fill up the arrow. Once no more souls will enter the arrow, equip the Wrath of the Ancients bow and place it on the shrine. Wait a few seconds and VOILA! You will have your new wolf bow ready to use with a life time guarantee parts and labour.

This bow launches zombies into the air and flying backwards each time you shoot. When you shoot you will notice the ghostly wolf image flying out and launching zombies into the stratosphere its quite cool but the more higher in rounds your game gets to, the weaker this bow becomes without upgrading it.

Upgrading the Bow in Der Eisendrache zombies to the FIRE BOW - Call Of Duty Black Ops 3

Der Eisendrache Map Layout: Main Spawn Area -- Outside Castle Gate -- Main Gate Courtyard Area -- Trophy Room -- Upper Courtyard -- Living Quarters -- Armory -- Mission Control -- Family Crypt -- Undercroft -- Teleporter Room -- Rocket Platform --

Secrets: Wrath of the Ancients Guide (Bow & Arrow) -- Fire Bow Upgrade -- Wolf Bow Upgrade -- Skullcrusher Wind Bow Upgrade -- Storm Bow Upgrade -- Teddy Bears Song -- Second Gondola -- RAGNAROK DG-4 Spikes -- Rocket Shield -- 5 Mini Secrets --

Easter Egg Guide Walkthrough: -- Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3 -- Part 4 --

Hi guys,

here I will show you how to upgrade the Wrath of the Ancients bow and arrow in Der Eisendrache zombies to the FIRE BOW. Its an awesome upgrade that when the bow hits its target, it sets the main target, as well as any surrounding, on fire and burns them to a crisp....great if you like your steaks well done.

To do any of the upgrades of the bow, you will of course need the original bow. If you are unsure how to obtain this then please check out my Wrath of the Ancients Bow Guide first.

Step 1 - Initiating the bow challenge

Head over to the BELL TOWER and run the stairs to the top and shoot your bow at the wall with the large strange symbol on it. This will reveal a NEW QUEST LINE which is the quest for the fire bow. You need to pick up this object with the strange orange aura about it and this will activate the quest. Once this has been picked up, you cannot do any of the other quest lines for the other bows until this one is completed or you pick up another quest line object.

Step 2 - The rocket facility

Now you want to head over to the rocket facility. You can get here by taking the main teleporter in the game or you can launch yourself over from the castle using the launch pods. What you want to do here is hang around until the rocket test sequence is about to begin, Run inside the doors before they close otherwise you will be BBQ'd, and keep killing zombies until the rocket test is completed.

When it has been completed, you want to run outside again and look up to find a strange glowing object that you need to shoot with the bow and arrow. When you shoot it, this will create a huge ball of fire to float up above the castle. Talk about free central heating :).

Step 3 - Faded Ritual Circles

Now what happens is you will find a total of 3 faded ritual circles dotted around the map which can be seen when you use the launch pods to travel to different sections of the map. The location of these ritual circles are:

  • Next to the BELL TOWER
  • In front of the DEATH RAY
  • One in front of DOUBLE TAP

The RITUAL CIRCLES present a difficult challenge as what you need to do is use the Wondersphere pods to launch yourself into the air and shoot these circles while you are in mid air, which is one hell of a test of your hand and eye co-ordination with the bow. You will see once flying through the air and they are glowing ever so slightly, when you shoot an arrow directly into them, they will become permanently lit up.

Step 4 - The lights are on but nobody's home

When all 3 circles from STEP 3 have been lit up, we can proceed onto the next part. We need to run to each of the lit up circles and stand inside them. When inside each of the circles, you will hear some weird voices talking to your character. This lets you know your 100% definitely inside the circle. While inside these circles, you need to kill zombies and when you do, their souls will be collected and absorbed into the circle. You will know you have collected enough souls when the circle lets out and almighty burst of flames into the air and goes towards the large fireball that has been hovering in the sky from the launch pad step. Do this for all 3 fire circles and then head onto STEP 5.

Step 5 - Back to the beginning.....Relight my fire

Now head back to the BELL TOWER and run up the stairs again to where you shot the arrow at the wall to reveal the FIRE QUEST line. Go to the wall where the symbol was on where you will see some cogs and hold the use button on it. This will cause the cogs within to start to spin around inside and will eventually stop. When it does stop, around it will be a lit up Apothicon symbol. This symbol will relate to the fireplaces that are dotted around the map.

The locations of fireplaces within this map are:
  • 1 In the Church Area in the room with all the computer screens
  • 1 in the hut adjacent to the Dragons Head near the Double Tap Perk.
  • 1 in Eddies Room which is opposite Samantha's room

You need to find the fireplace which has the exact same symbol as the symbol shown to you in the BELL TOWER.

Once you have charged all the 3 circles of fire up and no more zombie souls are going into them and activated the bell tower cogs, have a look around the map and find out which one of the 3 circles is still lit up. Standing inside this circle and killing zombies will no longer charge with zombie souls, however what it will do is make whatever zombie you kill while being in the circle, drop a strange piece of LAVA ROCK. Now this rock will need to be transported to one of the 3 fireplaces within the map, the only problem is that you move the rock by having your bow equipped and standing directly on top of the lava rock, and shooting with an arrow where you want it to go.

Wherever your arrow lands, is where the rock will be...sounds easy right? WRONG!!! Sorry I love to shout :) You only have a total of 3 shots from when the rock drops to get it into whatever fireplace has the Apothicon symbol you were shown in the BELL TOWER.

By rule of thumb, whatever area the fire circle symbol has appeared in E.G. Beside Double Tap, then its the fire place in EDDIES ROOM for instance.
When you do get the rock in front of the correct fireplace, charge an arrow and fire it into the dead centre of the fireplace which will then spawn a MAX AMMO powerup. Also the fire will become lit with purple and pink flames.

After a few seconds of the fire igniting, hold the USE BUTTON on the fire and you will be able to actually pick it up.....without using oven gloves.

Step 6 - Last but not least

Lastly we need to go to the DEATH RAY location, where the giant fireball that has been hovering above the map will be fairly close to the ground at this stage. You need to kill a zombie just underneath it and after a little bit of strange voices again you hold the use button on the fireball and it will form a crust, go up into the air and explode. Once it has exploded, it will drop an arrow that has been reforged into the FIRE ARROW.

Pickup this fire arrow and head down to the UNDERCROFT section to place the arrow onto the GATEKEEPER RITUAL area which has the symbol of the bow you are upgrading. In the undercoft beside the MPD, you will notice four boxes and each one of these is used for a specific arrow. When the arrow is on the RITUAL AREA, simply killing zombies near it will charge it up for you.....once no more zombie souls are being pulled toward it, go over and place your bow onto the ritual area as well. After a few moments you will see a large bolt of red energy shoot upward and the bow will reappear as the FIRE BOW. Pick it up and start frying some zombies with it.

If you are stuck then please check out MRDALEKJD's video guide for the fire bow below plus his updated video which left out a step previously:

Der Eisendrache Easter Egg Guide Walkthrough Part 3 - Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombies

Der Eisendrache Map Layout: Main Spawn Area -- Outside Castle Gate -- Main Gate Courtyard Area -- Trophy Room -- Upper Courtyard -- Living Quarters -- Armory -- Mission Control -- Family Crypt -- Undercroft -- Teleporter Room -- Rocket Platform --

Secrets: Wrath of the Ancients Guide (Bow & Arrow) -- Fire Bow Upgrade -- Wolf Bow Upgrade -- Skullcrusher Wind Bow Upgrade -- Storm Bow Upgrade -- Teddy Bears Song -- Second Gondola -- RAGNAROK DG-4 Spikes -- Rocket Shield -- 5 Mini Secrets --

Easter Egg Guide Walkthrough: -- Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3 -- Part 4 --

Step 7 - Ring a ring a roses...

When you return back to the present day, use the wonder sphere to launch yourself back to the castle, its quicker than calling a taxi, and whoever picked up the GOLDEN ROD, tell them to take it down to the room where you originally picked up the WRATH OF THE ANCIENTS BOW, which is sort of a tomb like room with the body of a knight laying on the tomb of someone.

Once here, place the GOLDEN ROD into the stone slab in front of the knight. Once done, it will spawn a GHOSTLY GATEKEEPER. He will start doing a runner straight away and will want you to follow him. He will lead you to a STONE SYMBOL on a wall in one of 4 locations around the map. When the gatekeeper gets to one of the stone symbols on the wall and stands in front of them, it will make a small white ring appear on the floor.

The more players that stand in the white ring, the bigger it becomes. You will know you are in the ring as in the Heads Up Display of your character, there will be a coloured faded glow appearing at the bottom of the screen. This means you need to use a particular type of upgraded bow needs to be used to kill zombies while in this ring or close by. For example if it glows orange, you will use the upgraded fire bow to kill zombies within the ring. For every zombie you kill, the souls of them will be collected by the gate keeper in each of the 4 locations.

Once the location has been completed and the gate keeper has done is Shang Tsung soul collecting party trick, he will move onto the next location. When it comes to the location near DOUBLE TAP, you will need to place the STONE SLAB you took from Dr Groth's lab onto the wall with the symbol on it. This is needed in order for the gate keeper to actually collect the loose souls. Once all 4 locations have been completed, the gate keeper will no longer be a ghost, cancel the call to ghostbusters, and will head down to the PYRAMID area in the UNDERCROFT.

Step 8 - "Lasers....how very Sci Fi"

Once the gate keeper has made his way into the PYRAMID area, he will go out into the centre of where the pyramid was and all of a sudden 4 laser beams will shoot into the centre of him and teleport him to the moon. This will then trigger a sequence of quotes from characters in the game and on the moon dramatising what is happening up there....whereas we can only imagine.

Once this narrative sequence has ended, you will then see the MPD teleport back to where the gatekeeper was standing before he was teleported. Take a look around the MPD and you will notice that there are BLUE VILES located at each corner of the MPD. HOWEVER, you knew it was coming, there is one VILE missing from one of the corners. Whoever had taken the BLUE VILE from Dr Gorth's lab during the teleportation sequences, needs to place the vile in the corner with the missing vile. Once this has been placed, the next step is a major boss battle.

Step 9 - Your not the boss of me

Before taking on the boss, all players within the game must have acquired and built the RAGNOROK DG4 GRAVITY SPIKES and have them charged and ready to use before continuing. To charge the RAGNOROK up, zombie kills are required to do this. Once you have suited and booted yourselves up with PACK A PUNCHED weapons, perks, gobble gum and their charged gravity spikes, stand in front of the MPD each person on the blue floor tiles that are glowing. Then all players must get out their gravity spikes and plant them in the ground at these blue tile locations.

Within a few seconds, you will be teleported to the gate keeper boss fight location. You will find yourself in a room with a pad of blue glowing columns within an inner circle with a very dark pitch black outer circle. Regular zombies will not spawn here but skeleton zombies will attack you instead. These will come from the ground and you need to be aware of your surroundings and kill them ASAP so not to be jumped by them.

The GATE KEEPER boss has 3 different attacks:

  • Lava pods rising from the ground. These take a second or two to initiate so can be easily avoided before they rise. If you are caught in a pod when it rises, it causes you a lot of damage as well as making your character slow down significantly leaving you open to additional hits from dogs or skeleton zombies.

  • Large swarm of Gate Keeper purple skills fired towards you. These can be shot at and destroyed as they come towards you. These can inflict a lot of damage, especially if a large swarm of them has locked onto your character.

  • Large electrical surge, downs a player in one hit, but is also where your counter attacks come from.

When the gate keeper is about to do the large electrical surge attack, a BLUE ORB will appear in the centre of the inner ring. When it does, a player must slam down their RAGNOROK gravity spikes into it in order to initiate a trap for the gate keeper that then allows damage to be inflicted onto him. You need to hide behind the pillars when the gravity spikes are placed down as this will make you avoid being hit by the electrical surge when it erupts.

The gate keeper will appear above the blue orb with his hands behind his back and a yellow glowing part on his chest which you need to shoot with upgraded bows in order to inflict damage onto him. After a certain amount of damage has been inflicted, the keeper will return to the standard 3 attacks he carries out. Whoever placed their RAGNOROKS in the centre of the inner circle, must pick them back up and start charging them again by killing skeletons.

Keep dodging the gate keeper attacks again until the blue orb in the centre appears, simply repeat the steps before and shooting him in the chest to inflict more damage.
