Hi guys,

Welcome to the awesome new map called Citadelle Des Morts for Black Ops 6 zombies. Let's dive straight into the chilling horrors of this map and see what it has in store for us.

 Set within a foreboding French fortress, players will battle through shadowy corridors, ancient catacombs, and decaying battlements, all while uncovering the dark secrets of a cursed artefact that’s unleashed a relentless undead horde. Packed with elemental traps, mysterious relics, and an epic Dark Aether storyline, this map promises heart-pounding action and mind-blowing Easter eggs waiting to be discovered!

Cannonball!!!!! Not the Swimming Pool Kind

First, we need to start opening up the map all the way up until we get to the COURTYARD area. We can get to this area simply by following the objective markers that appear, that are asking us to find a way into the castle.

When we get there, in order to get into the castle, we need to use the CANNON which is in the HILLSAIDE RAMPARTS section of the map. This is up the stairs and on the towers and walkways facing the main entrance to the castle. Currently the cannon is looking out towards the land in front of the castle, so we will have to turn it around to face the castle entrance, as we are going to start this party with a bang and blow the front doors open with it. 

Simply run up to the objective marker highlighting the cannon, crank the wheel to turn it round 180 degrees, then hit the use button on it to fire and hey presto, your in!








What a way to make an entrance....why we cannot knock the door or use the doorbell is beyond me.....plus this way is much more cooler! The main point is your now in and it's game on.

This Castle Packs a Real Punch

Next we simply need to keep following the objective markers that now say "Search the Oubliette Room". This is in the lowest part of the castle and is located beside the UNDERCROFT area.





When you get here, you will find a large blue box which houses the PACK A PUNCH machine, which has been locked up via 3 small padlocks which you will first need to shoot or melee off to open the container. When you enter the area, Ravenov mentions over the radio that "That room contains some  valuable weaponry, even prototypes from the director himself" so you know your in the right place.





Once you've shot off the locks of the blue container, it will spawn a DOPPELGHAST which is a very fast moving zombie and this unique creature has two heads and tentacle-like appendages instead of arms to attack you with. The first one you encounter here is relatively easy to kill. Once you kill him, it will drop a red BLOOD ATHERIUM CRYSTAL. 





This crystal then needs inserted into the portal that appeared inside the blue container when you opened the shutter and the doppelghast jumped out to say hello. Insert this red crystal into the portal and it will make the PACK A PUNCH machine appear.....awwww yeah.

Dungeons, but no Dragons

Now PACK A PUNCH is activated, we need to head down to the DUNGEON area and find the door as shown in the image below, which is located just to the right of the QUICK REVIVE PERK MACHINE.





Walk up to this door and hold the use button to interact with it and it will flip down the hatch so that you can have a conversation with Gabriel Kraft. He will dish out some gossip to you and then you will have to see how your blacksmith skills are, as we are going to build the BASIC SWORD.

However in order to start building the SWORD, we will need to progress onto ROUND 10 first, then we can make our move onto building this awesome melee weapon.

Good Knight Bucket Heads

Now we have progressed onto round 10, you will start to see zombies with armoured helmets on their heads. These are special zombies in the map that once destroyed, drop gold glowing items called STAMPS. 





These stamps are used to interact with the 4 KNIGHTS STATUES that are located in the DINING HALL area. 





Each knight statue in the DINING HALL corresponds to a specific sword of which there are 4. These 4 swords are called:

  • Caliburn: Dragon’s Fire

Create a fiery maelstrom of burning undead flesh, setting zombies alight and summoning an immense fireball.

  • Solais: Lion of Light

The warmth of Light courses through you as you send foes screaming into the darkness.

  • Durendal: Stag of the Storms

Summon thunderous power from the skies, discharging voltaic power to stun and stagger, before an electrical beam serves up a severe searing.

  • Balmung: Raven’s Shadow

Cast your rotting foes into the Aetherial abyss, warping nearby enemies with a focused liminal tear.

So let's get to grips as to what is needed to obtain each of these swords. We will start with the DARGON SWORD first.

Each knight has a symbol on their chest such as a DRAGON for example for this sword, so it is easily identifiable which sword you are going for when you interact with each knights statue.

Each time you interact with a new knight statue, it will give you the basic version of the sword. With this sword, you can of course attack zombie foes with it, but also block attacks with the PARRY action as well which comes in very handy when cornered and need a slight breather.

Dragon Sword - Let's Breathe Some Fire into this Castle

Get a stamp from one of the zombies wearing the ARMOURED HELMET, then go to the knight with the DRAGON SYMBOL on his chest in the DINING HALL area and hold the interact button, 




It will give you the "Dragon B****** Sword", you know what it says in the bottom right hand corner of the HUD, however no cursing allowed on this blog even though it's not related to cursing, but we need to use our imagination as to it's full name.

Now, with dragon sword in hand, make your way over to the area called the DINING HALL PASSAGE, where you will notice a very scary looking DRAGON STATUE lurking in the middle of this passage. 





Go up to it and hold the interact button to PLACE THE SWORD INTO THE SLOT on the small plinth in front of it.

Once you do this, 3 BRAZIERS will light up around the map which are basically small fire pits, with their flames bellowing out. These locations do not change on each playthrough and will remain in the same place.

Once you get to each brazier, you will interact with the flames and it will set your character on fire. Once on fire, your health will start to slowly deplete. The aim here is to get back to the dragon statue where you placed the dragon sword and deliver the fire to it, feeding the dragon  its favourite snack.

In order to stand a better chance of making it back each time to deliver each flame so to speak, killing zombies while on fire, does recharge your health so don't panic if you think your not going to make it in time if your health gets low. Destroy some zombies which is a great health recharger and de-stressor in a zombie apocalypse world.

When you get back to the statue each time, interact with it and it will RELEASE DRAGON FIRE into the statue and you will no longer be on fire anymore, what a relief.

  • The location of the 1st brazier is located in the TOWN SQUARE area in the corner to the left of the large clock tower building.







  • The location of the 2nd brazier is located at the end of the NATURE PATH, at the bottom of the hill, near the archway shown below on the map:



  • The location of the 3nd brazier is located right beside the cannon you used to blow open the front door in the VILLAGE RAMPARTS area:



When you deliver the last bout of fire to the dragon statue, it will start breathing fire onto the sword you placed into its plinth before allowing you to pick it up again. The sword is now called CALIBURN.





Simply interact with the statue to pick up the sword and it will now have the following ability to charge the sword by melee enemies with it, then once charged, you can use LT + RT to unleash its special attack which is an awesome huge explosion firing out 3 fire ball like projectiles. 





This is great when dealing with large amounts of trained zombies, especially in higher rounds.

Lion Sword - Hear me Roar!
Now we need to find another zombie wearing an armoured helmet and destroy him. This will then drop another STAMP on the ground. We then need to take this STAMP back to the dining hall and choose another KNIGHT to give it to. 






We will now try to get the SOLAIS sword which is the KNIGHT with a picture of a LION on his chest. Give the stamp to the knight and it will give you the "Lion B****** Sword". 





We need to head over to the UPPER VILLAGE area with this basic lion sword, then we need to find the door shown below underneath one of archways to the left of the building with the sign that starts with "AUBERGE" which I think is some kind of inn, if my high school French is anything to go by.....thank god for Google translate though.






You will notice a door with a knocker on it that is a LIONS HEAD and its eyes are glowing. Simply hit this door with the sword and it will start to spawn in 4 GLOWING PARASITES that you need to kill one at a time. 

Once you kill the GLOWING PARASITE, the sword will glow yellow with an aura. you then need to go back to the door and hit the door with the glowing yellow sword. This will make a YELLOW SYMBOL appear, which is one of 4. 





Now we need to repeat this process until we kill all the glowing parasites and have hit the door 4 times in total with glowing yellow swords, until all 4 symbols have appeared on the door.

Once all 4 symbols are imprinted on the door, melee it one more time and it will transport you to the SANCTUARY area where you will place the sword on another plinth. When you do this, there will be a fantastic light display going on with lots of symbols shooting into the air and around the room.






What happens now is, underneath the sword, there is a particular symbol being displayed. You need to look around the room and you will notice that lots of the symbols that flew out are now stuck to the walls and the ceiling of the room. You simply need to find the symbol that is underneath the sword on the plinth and shoot it, where it will then float off the wall towards the sword.




You simply repeat this process for the symbols until you have found all the symbols the sword is looking for on each side of the plinth. Some zombies will start to appear and as it is a tight space, the quicker you can shoot the symbols the easier this will become.

Also note there is a timer on the left hand side of the screen to get this done, otherwise you will need to repeat the process again to get in here.




Once all symbols have been matched the sword will start to glow yellow and you will now have the SOLAIS SWORD, which also has its own special attack which is almost like a forcefield around you when activated. Any zombies that walk into the yellow vortex like energy circling you will be obliterated. Very handy to get out of tight spots when corned unexpectedly.

Stag Sword - What a Great Stag Knight he had before his Wedding
We know the drill by now for these swords, obtain another STAMP, go to the DINING HALL Area and interact with the KNIGHT that has the STAG image on his chest and obtain the basic "Stag B****** Sword".



We now need to head out into the big bad world in order to obtain 3 LIGHTNING RODS.

Lightning Rod 1 - Permanent Location
The first lightning rod is always located in the same spot every playthrough, which is to the left of the DEADSHOT DAIQUIRI PERK MACHINE on the corner of several wooden boxes, in the HILLTOP area of the map.



Lightning Rod 2 - Shocking Situation
To get this rod, we will need to have the AMMO MOD DEAD WIRE equipped for this one. This of course can be purchased very easily from the ARSENAL VENDING MACHINE.



Once you have this acquired, we can then head over to the UPPER VILLAGE AREA just near SPEED COLA perk machine, there is an ELECTRICAL BOX that has wires running up to an aerial on one of the roofs of the building, to the left of the INN. This INN is the one which has the archway and the door to the lion sword on the left hand side, so should be easy to find.







Simply shoot the ELECTRICAL BOX with the DEAD WIRE ammo mod and the LIGHTNING ROD will spark and fly off the top of the aerial and land on the ground below where you can then pick it up and move onto the 3rd and final rod.

Lightning Rod 3 - Pot Luck
To find the last rod, it randomly appears on a zombie and is attached to their body. When you destroy this zombie, it will fall off them and you can pick it up. Most people seem to say it can spawn more frequently in the underground areas such as the DUNGEON, so probably best heading down there to find this last rod to save time and increase your chances of getting it quickly.



When you find it pick it up and we can head over to where we need to use these 3 rods.

Zombies Running Rampant
Now we need to head over to the HILLSIDE RAMPARTS area, where we will find a METAL VASE sitting on top of some concrete slabs. Simply interact with this and it will insert all 3 LIGHTNING RODS into the vase and create a mini thunder storm on top of the walkway you are on.






All we have to do here is kill zombies with the sword until it gets charged up and it is glowing with electricity. Once charged with electricity, simply go over and melee the vase. Each time you melee a vase, a LIGHTNING ROD will start buzzing with electricity.






Keep repeating this process of charging the sword then transferring the electrical current to another lightning rod, until all 3 rods are charged.



Once charged, this will then spit out the stag sword which is called DURENDAL.
