Gramophones and Vinyl Records Egg Astra Malorum - Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Zombies

Hi guys,

In the Astra Malorum Zombies map, you can activate special Gramophones that play classic Zombies music from previous games and also reward you with free perks, loot, and salvage.

There are 3 VINYL RECORDS hidden around the map. These need to be picked up one at a time, then placed into any one of the  3 GRAMOPHONES around the map which I will show the locations for below.

Once a Vinyl Record is inserted, the Gramophone will begin playing music and activate a Soul Box challenge. To charge it, you must kill zombies in a specific way, which differs for each Gramophone. Simply killing zombies normally will not work, each one has its own unique requirement.

When the Soul Box is fully charged, you’ll receive your reward. If you fail to complete it before the timer runs out, don’t worry, just advance to the next round and try again.

You can inserting the VINYL RECORDS into the GRAMOPHONES in any order, the VINYL RECORDS are not specific to a GRAMOPHONE location and can be used in all.

Vinyl Record Locations

Location 1 - Museum Infinitum

This VINYL RECORD is to the left of the CRAFTING TABLE in the Museum Infinitum area of the map, in the corner, up on a section of the WOODEN COLUMN.





Look up and you will see the VINLY RECORD, however to get it, you will need to JUMP up toward it and hit the INTERACT button to successfully pick it up.

Location 2 - Machina Astralis

This is located in the middle floor of the MACHINA ASTRALIS area. This is to the left of a GRANDFATHER CLOCK that is near to where the stairs take you down to the lower floor of this area.





The VINYL RECORD is sitting inside a WOODEN CRATE and can be picked up simply by interacting with it.

The closest GRAMOPHONE to this disc is actually in the ACRHIVE OF ORBS area, to the right hand side of the STAMIN-UP PERK MACHINE.

Location 3 - The Luminarium

This is one of the more harder to see VINYL RECORDS, mainly because it is in such a dark corner of the LUMINARIUM area.

Luckily it also has a GRANDFATHER CLOCK next to it, which we can use as a marker for our search.

It is to the left hand side of one of the WALL GUN BUYS in here, then you will see the GRANDFATHER CLOCK as shown below:




Simply go to the dark corner, the left hand side of the clock and hold the INTERACT button and you should pick up the VINYL RECORD.

The good news is, there is a GRAMOPHONE located in the LUMINARIUM, so you will have a short walk to insert the record into a GRAMOPHONE.

Gramophone Player Locations

Location 1 - Museum Infinitum

There is a GRAMOPHONE just facing the SPEED COLA PERK MACHINE in the MUSEUM INFINITUM area of the map, next to the GUN WALL BUY.







All you have to do here is MELEE the zombies in order to get the GRAMOPHONE to harvest the zombie souls, which will be a GLOWING PURPLE ENERGY WISP floating towards it.

You will have to get around 15 to 20 kills for each of these GRAMOPHONES, they are a hungry bunch, before it stops charging.

You will know you have completed this GRAMOPHONES challenge, as it will spit out a guaranteed RANDOM FREE PERK, extra salvage, essence etc. as a reward for playing the record in this machine.

Location 2 - Archive of Orbs

There is a GRAMOPHONE in the ARCHIVE OF ORBS area, where all the books are kept on the SHELVES that relate to how many times the STATUES in this room need interacted with.

It is also to the right hand side of the STAMIN-UP PERK MACHINE.







Place a VINYL RECORD onto the GRAMOPHONE and this time, instead of using MELEE to destroy zombies, we will need to destroy them using LETHAL EQUIPMENT, such as grenades, molotov's etc. in order to charge up the GRAMOPHONE'S SOUL BOX MECHANIC.

The easiest way to do this is by using MOLOTOV's as they last a lot longer when thrown inflicting constant damage to any enemy walking within the fire. 





Sometimes 3 MOLOTOV'S is tricky to get 15 to 20 kills with this many, however if you trigger and insta-kill powerup when you get to this GRAMOPHONE, it becomes extremely easy to kill zombies very quickly charge this gramophone with souls.

When it is completed, it will spit out another FREE MYSTERY PERK for you to use, as well as more salvage, essence etc.

Location 3 - Luminarium

In the LUMINARIUM area, there is a GRAMOPHONE located in the corner of one of the rooms, between 2 SOFA'S / COUCHES.

Place a VINYL RECORD into the GRAMOPHONE and this time in order to charge up the SOUL BOX MECHANIC, you will need to use a FIELD UPGRADE to get kills with, such as MISTER PEEKS or DARK FLARE for example.







Once you get the kills with the FIELD UPGRADE, this will start to charge the GRAMOPHONE SOUL BOX until there is about 15 to 20 souls in it. 

Once completed it will spit out the FREE RANDOM PERK and the usual essence, salvage etc.

One interesting thing about this Easter egg is that you can continue to do this with the GRAMOPHONES in the game, activating them charging them up with zombie souls, all throughout the play through.

The only thing is, you will not get more RANDOM FREE PERKS, your rewards will simply be HIGH VALUE LOOT rather then the perk, which in itself can be extremely useful.

So it is worth continuing when you are short on cash, powerups etc to activate this Easter egg so that it can be called upon again when needed.

Hi guys,

Here is how to trigger the INSTA-KILL WISPS in the Call Of Duty Zombies map Astra Malorum.

These are WISPS that circle a player as you collect them and can be fired off by aiming down sights of a gun and pressing the MELEE button to fire them into an enemy.

When it hits normal zombies, its as if it phases them out of existence, as they fade away into nothingness.

It is useful as a backup in certain situations, especially in higher rounds when zombies are a little bit faster and now and again you may have a zero ammo crisis going on.

The good thing is that each player can obtain 9 of these each, as they will respawn around the map and people can pick them up again once they have regenerated to be used over again, which is pretty sweet.

Here is how to obtain the INSTA-KILL WISPS as people in the Call of Duty community are calling them.

What we need to do here is first find one of the WALL LANTERNS which has a YELLOW GLOW to them.

You then need to AIM DOWN SIGHTS with your weapon for several seconds. As you aim at the YELLOW LIGHT LANTERN, you will notice the gun starts to twitch 2 or 3 times.

On the 3rd twitch, a YELLOW WISP / ORB Will pull towards you and start to circle your character.

Once this happens, we need to go around the other 8 UNLIT WALL LANTERN locations on this map and look down the sights of the gun and then press the MELEE button.


This will throw one of the ENERGY ORBS circling you into the UNLIT LANTERN and light it for you.

You will then stare down the sights of your gun when the energy orb is thrown into the WALL LANTERN and it is lit. After a few seconds of staring, the orb will come back to you, while leaving a very dimly lit wall lantern on the wall.

This lets you know you have lit this wall lantern successfully and we need to rinse and repeat this for all of the 8 wall lanterns on this map.

Got a light? Yes....9 actually!

So as explained, in a nutshell:
  • Find the first wall lantern that is lit and pull the energy from it aiming down sights
  • go round all wall lantern locations throwing the energy orb into it by aiming down sights and melee to fire it into to lantern. Then look down sights again for a few seconds and the orb will come back to you. 
  • A small bit of yellow energy, as if the lantern is dimly lit, will remain behind to show you are successful.
  • Rinse and repeat this until all 9 wall lanterns are lit and completed.
  • Then go around the lanterns and aim down sights to pick them all up, the orbs, which you should have a max ammo count of 9 of these at a given time. They will circle your body once collected and if you enter 3rd person mode, you can tell how many you have to use.



These INSTA-KILL WISPS do keep respawning in the entire playthrough once activated and reappear for reuse again every few minutes.







Once you hit a zombie with it, they will almost dematerialise in front of your eyes, slowly erasing them into....well....nothingness.
