Hi guys,

here is the full Easter egg guide on how to complete the Astra Malorum zombies map within Call of Duty Black Ops 7. This is a very interesting map being out in space, the colours and scenery look amazing in this map and are very colourful and the opening cut scene is action packed.

It is a much smaller map when compared to Ashes of the Damned and the Easter egg is much easier to complete also.

Lets get to it...

Power that can be observed

What we need to do is open up the map all the way from spawn to the OBSERVATORY DOME area of the map. This is so that we can TURN ON THE POWER in this map, as some of the doors are POWERED DOORS and cannot be opened unless this step is done.

Head over to the OBSERVATORY DOME, where the objective markers will be showing you the way to. Once in the observatory, interact with the organ type machine in the centre of it called the HARMONIC OCULUS to turn on the power.




When you do this, the power will actually fail to come on. Go up to the machine it will then show you a prompt that it is DAMAGED REQUIRES REPAIR.

What we have to do here is find 2 items called HARMONIC COMPONENTS.

The first location of 1 of these HARMONIC COMPONENTS is on the upstairs floor of the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map.

If you head upstairs and on the circular balcony above this room, you will find a DEAD ZOMBIE LAYING ON THE GROUND. Next to him there is one of the items called the HARMONIC COMPONENT, which if you interact with, you will pick it up.




Now we can move onto finding the second component.

If we head over to the LUMINARIUM area, we will find another DEAD ZOMBIE and the second HARMONIC PART. He will be propped against a small unit, near where the JUGGERNOG PERK MACHINE is located.




Once we have this second HARMONIC PART, head back to the OBSERVATORY DOME and interact with the HARMONIC OCULUS again to repair it. Then once repaired, interact with it one more time, where there will be flash of energy bursting out from the machine.







Once this happens a mini lockdown will start and zombies will start to attack the machine. All you have to do here is protected the machine until it spawns in the PACK A PUNCH MACHINE, directly facing the HARMONIC OCULUS.

Once this is done we can now move onto the next step which is acquiring the LGM-1 WONDER WEAPON.

Here's one I made earlier

Now we need to acquire the LGM-1 WONDER WEAPON. This involves a special kind of enemy called O.S.C.A.R. spawning into the map who is a killer robot and destroying him in 3 different ways with TRAPS around the map in different areas.

We then also need to collect 3 items which is the:

  • Damaged Drone - From O.S.C.A.R. by shooting down the drone that orbits him and provides his shield

  • Aberrant Wiring - From a blinking lamp post light

  • Car Battery - From Ol' Tessie, shooting its bonnet with a Pack A Punched weapon to obtain this

When we have the wonder weapon built, we can move onto the next step.

Now we have destroyed O.S.C.A.R. a few times, and what fun it was with those 3 traps, we need to progress a few rounds again until he spawns back in again.

When he does, we need to follow behind O.S.C.A.R., without disturbing him.





You will then find he starts playing back audio logs of different people he has said he has destroyed. One particular one you want to listen out for is then he mentions "Playback of Elimination Twenty" and relates it to "Targeting Doctor Thurston".

This is one you will want to pay close attention to because he will mention 3 PLANETS that you will want to take a note of.




These planets are totally random on each play through so they are never the same.

We need to take note of these planets names because they will be used to create a code.

Astrology 101
The 3 planets that we had overheard O.S.C.A.R. mentioning, form a code. This code is worked out from the list below, taking the order of the planets closest to the SUN in our solar system.

This means the the planets listed below correspond to the order number beside them:
  1. Mercury
  2. Venus
  3. Earth
  4. Mars
  5. Jupiter
  6. Saturn
  7. Uranus
  8. Neptune
This order of each planet is what gives us a code we will need to input into a machine in the OBSERVATORY DOME area of the map. It is the machine with the 3 BULB TYPE CHARACTER DISPLAYS on the top of the machine.




In this play through the planets were mentioned in this exact order from O.S.C.A.R.:

Neptune - Relates to number 8
Mars - Relates to number 4
Jupiter - Relates to number 5

This forms the code 845 we need. Remember, this is different on every play through.






Input this into the machine and it will trigger a quote from your character you are playing with, as well as lowering down a small LIFT that is located to the left of the PACK A PUNCH MACHINE.

You will see it is a light grey and a slight puff of smoke or dust comes off it when it moves.

Simply jump up onto this lowered LIFT and you will find another DEAD ZOMBIE.






To the left of the zombie on this platform is a CRYO CHAMBER KEY. Pick it up and we can move onto the next part of this Easter egg.

Solid as a "Rock", I know what I "Saw"....use your brain
Excusing the puns for this sections header, with the CRYO CHAMBER KEY picked up from the OBSERVATORY DOME, we need to head over to the MUSEUM INFINITUM and locate the DISPLAY CABINET that is diagonally adjacent to the SPEED COLA PERK MACHINE, in the corner.





In here you will see a BONE SAW, simply smash the display cabinet's glass and interact to pick up the BONE SAW.

With the BONE SAW acquired, we now need to head over to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map and locate the CRYO FREEZE POD shown below with a body in it.




This FROZEN BODY is DOCTOR THURST. Interact with this CRYO POD in order to open it and DOCTOR THURSTS body will come sliding out.

Once he is out, interact with him one more time and you will start to use the BONE SAW you picked up earlier to perform an OPERATION to remove his BRAIN.






After performing the operation, pick up his BRAIN, making sure to wash your hands after you do, then head back over to THE LUMINARIUM area.

You will notice that on one of the desks against the wall, there is a small CANISTER with a  PURPLE GLOW to it. Hold interact on this object to place DOCTOR THURSTS BRAIN into the canister.






Once you do this it will activate a mini lockdown sequence in this area, lasting about 60-70 seconds.

All you have to do here is protect the BRAIN from being damaged. Protect it until the lockdown ends, which is signalled by a white flash on the screen, then go over to the BRAIN once more and interact with it.




This will pick up the whole CANISTER that the brain is inside and it will give a quote from DOCTOR THURSTON mentioning he is not dead.

We then need to head over to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map.

Confusion of the Perfusion Machine
In the MACHINA ASTRALIS area, find the machine to the right hand side of the grandfather style clock here, near the stairs.




Simply interact with this to put the CANISTER that DOCTOR THURSTS BRAIN is in, into the machine. When it happens there will be a mini style earth quake tremor letting you know your on the right track with this Easter egg.

Next we will need to head back to the OBSERVATORY DOME area and interact with the VIEW FINDER that is on the left hand side of the HARMONIC OCULUS, which we looked through earlier to find the SUN when we were building the LGM-1 WONDER WEAPON and using it to destroy O.S.C.A.R. in this area with the SUNS ENERGY.







This time however, in the VIEW FINDER, we are looking to find MARS and not the SUN. Remember that each play through, the position of MARS will change in the VIEW FINDER, whereas the SUN will remain in the same place.

MARS will change each playthrough to make it harder for you, as when you find it in the night sky, we will need to take note of its COORDINATES in the sky.

If you take too long in the view finder, you will be kicked out of it. Don't worry though, be happy, as you just interact with it one more time in order to look through it again......no biggy.

In this playthrough, when we found MARS, we need to take note in the VIEW FINDER of the 4 digits under the DEC reading. This time the DEC value was 42 25. Take a note of these numbers.


Code Breaker
Next, head over to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map and in the middle floor of this area, there is another machine which was previously an unopened box, but has now sprang to life and allows you to input a 4 digit code.

This is of course the 4 digit code you just obtained on your play through from the DEC value when you found MARS in the night sky.





If the code you have entered is correct, the keypad will light up BLUE and it will give you a quote for COORDINATES ACCEPTED.



So for this play through we put in the code 4225, but yours will be a different number and it is random every play through.

Now we can move onto the next step.

Time for a little light reading
For the next step, we need to head over to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map and back to the MACHINE that you put DOCTOR THURSTONS BRAIN into.

When you get to it, pay attention to the screen on the left hand side of the machine.

You will notice the display on this will mention the title "DR THRUSTON'S READING LIST", although I have noticed I think this is a spelling mistake and it should be "DR THURSTON'S READING LIST" but lets not go into a spelling lesson here.....maybe its his nickname?

Now you will then notice it is looping through lots of different book titles. This varies on playthroughs sometimes there is a list of 4 books, 5 books or 6 books displayed in the list, before it goes back to the beginning again when it hits the  "DR THRUSTON'S READING LIST" image again.







All you have to do is write down the names of these books, however many there are, then head over to the ARCHIVE OF ORBS area of the map.

You will then be interacting with 3 STATUES in this area where the BOOK SHELVES are on 3 sides of the room. 

Basically what we will be doing here is finding which bookshelf / wall the 4, 5 or 6 books you have been given in the list, are located on and tallying up how many books belong to that side of the room and its corresponding STATUE. Then you will move / turn the statue that many times, depending on how many books are on that side are on your list.

Sounds more complicated than it is, so lets find out via example.

One side of the ARCHIVE OF ORBS will have  STATUE to the left hand side of the BOOK SHELVES. 

Book Shelves and Book Locations 1
Here are the BOOK SHELVES on one side of the 3 walls that house them:




These shelves hold the following books, which will always be in the same place. These Books are called:
  • The Musica Universalis

  • Black Veil

  • The Moon Directive


Book Shelves and Book Locations 2
Here are the BOOK SHELVES on one side of the 3 walls that house them. It is on the side which has the writing in blood on the wall of "He will drain us all". The STATUE on this side of the room is to the far right of these shelves at the end of the SHELVES.




Moving from this writing on the wall on the far left, the books on these shelves are:

  • Ash and Bone

  • Echoes of Andromeda

  • The Unknowable Void


Book Shelves and Book Locations 3
Here are the BOOK SHELVES on the last side of the 3 walls. These SHELVES are located 90 degrees to the right of the statue where the location of BOOK SHELVES 2 is located. 




Simply walk to the right of location 2's statue and there is another set of SHELVES with  a STATUE and the following books:

  • Pyramids of Cydonia

  • Witchlight Codex


So here is what we need to do in a nutshell.

Basically there are 3 STATUES that correspond to the 3 BOOK SHELVES / SIDES OF THE ROOMS that hold the BOOKS mentioned in the displayed list on the machine the BRAIN is now attached to.

This is random every time the list generated, but the books will always be in the same place on the shelves.

Here is the list of books we had on this play through come out of the machine, there were 4 books in total and they are:
  • Black Veil 
  • Moon Directive
  • The Unknowable Void
  • The Witchlight Codex
What we need to do is:
  • Find the side of the room and bookshelves our books are located on
  • Determine how many of our books are on those shelves 1, 2 or 3 in total
  • Then turn the STATUE related to that side of the wall and bookshelves, however many times the bokos are on those shelves
So basically from the list of books we got, 2 of our books are on the side of the Book Shelves and Book Locations 1 So as there are 2 books on this side, we simply TURN THE STATUE A TOTAL OF 2 TIMES BY INTERACTING WITH IT.

We then check which books from our list are at Book Shelves and Book Locations 2 where we find that it contains just the 1 book which is THE UNKNOWABLE VOID....so we turn the associated STATUE on this side a total of 1 TIME.

Lastly we check the other set of book shelves in Book Shelves and Book Locations 3 where we just have the book called THE WITCHLIGHT CODEX on this side, so we find the STATUE here and turn it.....a total of 1 TIME.




Attempting this can only be done once per round and you should attempt to do it in the first 15 seconds of a new round beginning. If you fail to do it in a round, simply wait to the next round and try again.

If done correctly and you move each of the statues the correct number of times in correlation to how many of the books are listed in that book shelf / side of the room, a HATCH will open above where a set of LADDERS IS GOING UP INTO THE CEILING.

Climb up the LADDER and you will see on the left hand side of the attic, there is a PLANET NEPTUNE MODEL sitting. Hold to interact and pick it up then we can move onto the next step.
