We are back in tune....to the tune of Neptune!

Now we have got the NEPTUNE PLANET MODEL from the attic in the ARCHIVE OF ORBIS, we need to head over to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map and go up to the stairs in this area to the upper floor.

In the centre of this area you can see the large model of all of the PLANETS AROUND THE SUN. When you go up the set of stairs, you will notice that the machine has a GREY METAL PIPE hanging down that has nothing at the end of it.




Interact with this PIPE and it will place the MODEL OF NETPUNE you obtained onto it and it will swing around to the other side of the room, probably getting the planets in order away from the sun, which is in the centre.

Now what we need to do is ALIGN 3 PLANETS on this huge machine in the centre, to a particular COMPASS DIRECTION on this huge contraption.

How do we find out which planet we need to move and to which compass setting on this machine? I....thought....you'd never ask.

Around the map there will be 3 PIECES OF PAPER which will have a PLANET on this piece of paper as well as the COMPASS DIRECTION it needs to be facing on the machine.

What we will need to do is fine the pieces of paper, note down what planet and direction it has on it. This will randomise on every playthrough so each game they will never be the same.

Let's find out the locations of these astronomical compass directions:

Planet and Compass Paper location 1

This is located in MACHINA ASTRALIS itself, in the middle section floor. Simply look for the DESK WHICH HAS THE LANTERN GLOWING on it, they all seem to have a LANTERN glowing near these pieces of paper to give you a hint to its location.




Simply note down the planet and the direction and we can move onto the next piece of paper. In this instance the PLANET you can clearly see has rings around it so it is SATURN and the direction is SE which is SOUTH EAST on the compass.

The second location is in the ARHIVE OF ORBS in the middle of where all the bookshelves where. It is also sitting on a desk near the edge of where the lantern is lightly illuminating this area.




It was of course a RED PLANET on the piece of paper which correlates to MARS and has the letters SW which is SOUTH WEST on the COMPASS.

This last location is in the LUMINARIUM, underneath the PAINTING OF SATURN on the wall, there is a small desk here. Again there is a lantern indicating a light glow as if something important resides here.





In this playthrough you can see it is the BLUE PLANET which is of course NEPTUNE and the letters on it are NE which is NORTH EAST on the COMPASS.

Realigning Planets... in the scale model sense

Now we have the 3 planets and compass directions from the pieces of paper, we need to head back to the MACHINA ASTRALIS area of the map and stand underneath the HUGE LIGHT in the centre of this room and look up at it.

From the yellow light in the middle, you will notice that there are points coming out from it for S, W, N and E etc with mid points in between. This is the COMPASS itself. 



What we need to do here is shoot the planets that we had identified in the pieces of paper and line them up with the compass bearing that it correlated to on the page.

  • For Neptune we need to line it up to North East
  • For Mars we need to line it up to South West
  • For Saturn we need to line it up to South East

Remember these directions are totally randomised, along with the planets, on each play through.

To line them up, we simply shoot them once to move them one point along in the compass. Keep shooting each planet until it lines up with the compass point on the page, then move onto the next one and move it along until all 3 are at their correct positions.

Here is SATURN moved to match the paper which said SOUTH EAST on it on the COMPASS.



Then MARS was SOUTH WEST so we match it up to that point on the COMPASS





Lastly NEPTUNE was NORTH EAST it needs matched up to:


Now all we need to do is interact with the BRAIN MACHINE that has DOCTOR THURSTON'S BRAIN ATTACHED TO IT IN THE CONTAINER and it will make a PORTAL appear underneath the light, which will rise up to it.

This will start a mini lock down sequence. When it starts, O.S.C.A.R. will spawn in who is totally immune from all attacks, as well as an unlimited number of zombies.







All you have to do to survive the onslaught, is keep back the zombie hordes for around 90 seconds, as well as not dying.

Once the 90 seconds has passed, O.S.C.A.R. will explode and there will be a quote from DOCTOR THURSTON saying "You did it! The red planet is ours!"





You will then be pulled towards the PORTAL that appears and you will be teleported to the planet MARS.


One small step for man, one giant leap for mars-kind

Now that you have found yourself on the red planet, you will need to run down the steps from the teleporter and down into the centre of this sandy looking planet.

In the lowest, central part of this area on MARS, you will notice that the BRAIN CANISTER is lying on the ground, with DOCTOR THURSTON still inside it.




Pick it up and then make you way over to the unusual looking machine that points out over the Martian wasteland.

Interact with it and it will place the BRAIN CANISTER into the machine. DOCTOR THURSTON will then mention that there appears to be a piece missing from the machine, because a major component is not present.



Once we get this quote, we will need to obtain a scoped weapon with a reasonable zoom factor to it. A sniper is perfect for this but you can also use other weapons such as a scoped LMG or assault rifle. You can of course do this with an IRON SIGHTED weapon it is just more difficult some people find it, it's up to you.

Once you have obtained such a weapon, head back over to the weird looking machine we placed DOCTOR THURSTON'S brain into and interact with it to connected the PERFUSION MACHINE to it.


Once you interact with the machine, there will be a strange sound played and the screen will shake slightly. This now lets us know we can move onto the next step, which has already been activated and only has a short amount of time to be completed in, so lets get a move on zombie slayer.

On the left hand side of the machine you just activated, run down the steps and start running in a straight line towards the very end of the area ahead, where you will find a ZOMBIE SPAWN WINDOW WITH BLOOD on it.





Look out this window and you will see what looks like ELECTRICITY / TESLA COIL STYLE PYLONS out in the distance.

Simply shoot these in the order shown below starting with the:

  • Furthest away on right hand side
  • Then furthest away on left hand side
  • Closest on the right hand side
  • Closest on the left hand side
Its a zig zag pattern going from right left and right left again. As you shoot each one you will notice a GREEN GLOW above each pylon appearing, showing you the ones you have activated each time.






Then once all these have been shot, there will be 1 more PYLON on the machine itself that DOCTOR THURSTON'S brain is placed in. 

Shoot this to complete the sequence as the 5th placed pylon.





When you shoot this last pylon, you will notice that suddenly, what looks like a BIRD will start flying around the map above you....yes even Mars has wildlife....totally wild I know.



What we need to do here is wait for the ANTI GRAVITY to be come active on MARS and when it does, you will need to jump up and hold the interact button in order to grab the BIRD, which is called the ASCENDANT'S EYE part item.







Now we have acquired this item, head over to the right hand side of this MARS AREA and you will notice there there is a PYRAMID with a large machine on top of it, along with a tesla type coil on the left and right hand side of it. 

You can see there is a PLACEHOLDER on one side of the small PYRAMID type structure to put something on. This is where the ASCENDANT'S EYE part item goes.





We can now move onto the last step before heading to the big bad boss man fight.

Why do these symbols keep interfering with my work?
Now we need to head back to the OBSERVATORY DOME area of the map and interact with the HAROMINC OCULUS. On the right hand side you will notice a CIRCULAR screen that is like an oscilloscope display.









It will start to cycle through 5 displays of 5 symbols, however you will notice that only 4 out of the 5 symbols can be made out, as one will be a zig zag line of interference and will not tell you what that particular SYMBOL is is it trying to display.

Note down the SYMBOLS that appear here and the order they are appearing in, as well as when the interference happens on the screen for the SYMBOL we cannot get to display.

If you need to see the SYMBOLS again, simply interact with the organ one more time and it will cycle through them one more time. Do this as many times as you need to.

As you can see from the SYMBOLS in the images above, we got 3 symbols displayed then the 4th symbol was interference, followed by the 5th symbol.

No we have these noted down and which one isn't displaying, TELEPORT back to MARS and we will be needing someone with the LGM-1 WONDER WEAPON to perform the next steps of this Easter egg.

Whoever has the LGM-1 WONDER WEAPON, will need to shoot the ANTENNA'S on top of 5 PILLARS that are located in the MARS area.

Once you teleport into marks there are 2 PILLARS located here, one to the left of it and one to the right. Once you shoot each pillar, you will notice SMALL UFO DRONES will start circling each one, letting you know you have done it correctly.








There is another just behind the ASCENDANT'S EYE PYRAMID, shoot to activate it also.





The last 2 PILLARS are located in the left hand side of this area where there are symbols on the pillars themselves.

Shoot both these PILLARS which are a few metres away from each other and activate them same as the previous ones.





Now, you will notice that the SYMBOLS ON THE PILLARS themselves, are starting to GLOW BLUE.

What we need to do here is simply go to each of the PILLARS which has the matching SYMBOL AT ITS BASE, that we seen on our list coming from the the HARMONIC OCULUS display screen on the right hand side and activate them in the order they appear.

Of course we have only 4 out of the 5 symbols shown to us on the screen, but we do know the order they appeared in. There are only 5 SYMBOLS in total, so it is easy once we know all 4 what the 1 missing one will be.



Whichever PILLAR has a SYMBOL that wasn't shown to you in the list, this is the one that needs activated in that order sequence, as it was the missing one on the display. This was the one shown as interference back in the display screen in the OBSERVATORY DOME. In our list of symbols, it was the 4th in order was missing.

Activating an interacting with the CORRECT PILLARS TURNS THEM LIGHT BLUE, as shown below we activated them in the exact order shown previously in our HARMONIC OCULUS readout. 

Here are the first 3 SYMBOLS we got before hitting the INTERFERENCE FOR THE FOURTH SYMBOL, however as we know what the 5th symbol is in order, there is only one symbol left which means we will know exactly what the 4th pillar is we need to activate with the remaining symbol on it:











If you activate any of them in the wrong order, you will see them TURN RED and you will need to progress onto the next round before trying again so don't worry you can have as many goes as you like at this, without messing it up for good.


If done correctly the screen will flash white and you will now be able to activate the main boss fight.
