Secrets: Free LGM-1 Wonder Weapon Guide --
Hi guys,
here is the full guide on how to build the WONDER WEAPON in the zombies map called Astra Malorum in Black Ops 7 zombies, called the LGM-1 for free.
The Astra Malorum Zombies map is set on a weird Dark Aether planet. You start at a crash site, then make your way through places like an observatory and a museum. Along the way, you’ll explore areas like the Luminarium and the Machina Astralis, solving puzzles, fighting hordes, and using some pretty unique items to push the main quest forward.
Let's get into it and figure out how to build this amazing weapon and get this bad boy assembled!
How to Unlock the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon, Step to it then!
The first thing we need to do when we spawn into the map, as with nearly all Black Ops Zombies maps, is get the POWER online and the PACK A PUNCH MACHINE.
In a nutshell, to turn on the power and the Pack A Punch machine, simply open up the areas until you get to the OBSERVATORY DOME area of the map.
Once there you will need to repair the HARMONIC OCCULUS which is a strange device in the centre of the OBSERVATORY DOME, which looks very like a heavily modified organ.
To repair it, you need to find 2 HARMONIC COMPONENTS which are located at 2 totally opposite ends of the map.
Once you pick these components up, interact with the HARMONIC OCCULUS to start repairing it. Interact with it one more time to turn the power on.
With the power restored and the Pack-a-Punch online, you’re ready to tackle one of Astra Malorum’s biggest objectives, that is, unlocking the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon.
This process revolves around collecting four key items scattered across the map’s zones.
You can grab these items in any order. The 4 items we are looking for are the:
- Damaged Drone
- Car Battery
- Absolute Zero Fragments
- Aberrant Wiring
Understanding the map layout will make these steps far smoother, especially when planning efficient routes while moving between locations.
Car Battery Location – Located at the Crash Site (Ol’ Tessie)
Head to the Crash Site and locate the destroyed vehicle known as Ol’ Tessie. Then, use a Pack-a-Punched weapon to shoot the hood/bonnet of the vehicle that is now sadly, half buried in the space dirt.
Once damaged, the CAR BATTERY will come flying out and land on the ground. Interact with it to pick it up and we can move onto the next item.
This is definitely the easiest of all the parts to obtain, once you pick it up, it will spawn in a handful of zombies to attempt to halt you in your track so watch out for them.
Absolute Zero Fragments Location – Crystal Hunting has never been so clear!
Before you can collect the Absolute Zero Fragments, you’ll need to purchase the CRYO FREEZE AMMO MOD from the ARSENAL MACHINE for 500 Salvage.
With the CRYO FREEZE AMMO MOD equipped, begin hunting for glowing purple crystals found in outdoor sections of the map.
These locations shift each play through, so explore searching for them in the areas:
- Stargazer’s Courtyard
- Abyssal Rim
- Crash Site perimeter
What we need to do when we find a PURPLE CRYSTAL, is shoot three of them in total. Each one drops an Absolute Zero Fragment when it has been destroyed. You will need to collect in total 3 of these ABSOLUTE ZERO FRAGMENTS in order to then move onto the next item we need.
As you are moving around hunting for PURPLE CRYSTALS, watch out for a FLASHING LAMPOST. This will be related to one of the other items you will need to find, so remember its location when you see it.
Aberrant Wiring – This Lamp Post is a blinking disaster!
The ABERRANT WIRING is obtained by locating a blinking LAMP POST in one of Astra Malorum’s outdoor areas and shooting it with a Pack A Punched weapon.
These blinking lamp posts spawn in spots in the following areas as examples, but there are more:
- Stargazer’s Courtyard
- Crash Site
- Abyssal Rim
- Luminarium
You will notice there will be some LAMP POSTS around the map that are lit, some are not lit, but you will know when you have found a blinking one, as it is quite striking and noticeable the blinking, even at a distance. It has a slow off and on rhythm to it.
Once located, shoot the blinking light using a Pack-a-Punched weapon and it will drop the ABERRANT WIRING item for you to pickup..
Some of the LAMP POSTS are hidden or partially blocked by structures, so scan thoroughly from multiple angles to make sure you do not walk by any.
Damaged Drone Location - They keep "droning" on about Tracking Down O.S.C.A.R.
The Damaged Drone is tied to O.S.C.A.R., a roaming mini-boss that can spawn in multiple outdoor areas. In my playthrough, he appeared at the Crash Site shortly after Pack-a-Punch was unlocked, but you may need to cycle a few rounds before he shows up each time.
Once you locate O.S.C.A.R., look above him for a small flying UFO drone. This appears to be what gives him his red shield to limit damage done to him, or make him immune to certain attacks.
Shoot this drone down, and the DAMAGED DRONE item will drop to the ground for pickup. It may not drop the first time you destroy it, but destroying subsequent ones, it will eventually drop and will need picked up in order to progress into completing this Easter egg for the wonder weapon.
Do not kill O.S.C.A.R. yet!
You’ll need him alive for later stages.
O.S.C.A.R. moves slowly and has limited vision. Staying behind him and avoiding direct line-of-sight makes this step easy to manage even during later rounds.
He also follows a pre-set path around the map until you hit or attack him if you are behind him and he cannot see you.
What we need to do with O.S.C.A.R. is kill him 3 different ways, with 3 different traps located around the map.
TRAP 1 - Solar Energy in the OBSERVATORY DOME
If you want to force an O.S.C.A.R. to spawn in almost every time, if you complete this small step for activating the TELESCOPE in the OBSERVATORY DOME, it will almost always spawn in an O.S.C.A.R. pretty quickly to your game.
What you have to do here is look around the OBSERVATORY DOME area until you find a STEAM VENT / PIPE that is leaking STEAM.....strangely enough. When you find it, all you have to do is shoot it. This will stop the leak.
It will then move to another STEAM VENT / PIPE that is in the area, where you must locate it and shoot it to seal it again.
Repeat this process around the OBSERVATORY DOME until you have sealed about 6 or 7 of these leaks.
The STEAM VENTS can be around, above or below the Pack A Punch Machine area. You will know you have successfully shot and closed them, as a small hit marker will appear when you shoot each one.
Here are some of the locations shown in the images below in that area:
You will know when you have sealed enough of them, when the TELESCOPE in the middle begins to moves around and wiggle a bit.
This means you have been successful in getting the trap operational.
What you need to do next is go up to the TELESCOPE and interact with it to look through it. You will be looking through the view finder and all you have to do here is place it on the SUN, way out in space and exit out of it.
When you do this, you will notice a BEAM OF YELLOW SUN ENERGY hitting a spot just behind the VIEW FINDER of the TELESCOPE.
What you want to do here is lure O.S.C.A.R. into this energy beam and let him take a tonne of damage from it. As he is in the beam, it helps to shoot his small DRONE hovering around him if it has respawned again, to take down his shields and deal more damage to him.
He will hopefully then be destroyed and this will be 1 of 3 times we have destroyed O.S.C.A.R., but don't feel sorry for him yet, as we have to blow him up another two times in order to get where we want to be, which is holding a nice shiny new LGM-1 Wonder Weapon.
TRAP 2 - Electro-Volt Trap in the THE LUMINARIUM
In order to get O.S.C.A.R. to spawn in again, we need to progress a few more rounds and, low and behold, he will be back.....this guy cannot take a hint to stay away.
Once he has spawned in, make sure for this trap you have got the DAMAGED DRONE from O.S.C.A.R. before going in here.
What you want to do in the LUMINARIUM area is activate the trap that is called the ELECTRO-VOLT TRAP. This is a long arm type device with spinning devices on the end of it.
Simply run up to the right hand side of it and where there is a RED PANEL WITH A GREY LEVER on the side, interact with this to turn on this trap and lure O.S.C.A.R. into the room and train him to be in front of it.
Make sure to take down his shields by destroying the DRONE flying around him so that the trap can do full damage on him. Sometimes you might notice when the trap is active and the bolts of electricity hit him, it does come up IMMUNE from time to time.
Lowering his shields guarantees damage on him successfully.
This trap is essentially like a giant TESLA COIL, throwing out bolts of electricity and it appears we are OVERCHARGING O.S.C.A.R.S. BATTERY at this stage.
How do I know this? Because I know everything.....no just kidding....the objective on the left hand side of the screen tells us this.
Once he has been destroyed we can move onto the final trap we need to use, in order to destroy him for the final time to get our wonder weapon reward.
TRAP 3 - This Booster Rocket Trap is so cool in the MUSEUM INFINITUM
Here we rinse and repeat the previous two steps. Go through another few rounds and get O.S.C.A.R. to spawn in again, then lure him into the MUSEUM INFINITUM.
You will notice there is a ROCKET sitting a type of control panel / plinth in here. Go up to this ROCKET SHIP and interact with it where you can see the CONTROL PANEL at its side.
There will be a short delay, but after about 6 or 7 seconds, the rocket booster will ignite and blast out a FREEZING COLD BURST.
Again, lure O.S.C.A.R. into the freezing cold energy burst, shoot the DRONE above him to bring down the shield and after several seconds of being in the cold, he should explode.
If this is the last trap you have to do, he will of course at this point, drop the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon for you to pick up.
Remember, these traps can be done in any order, so it may not be the exact order here you have been shown, it just depends what way you want to tackle it.
This weapon can of course be Pack A Punched to give more damage, increased ammo capacity in the magazine and fire faster as well so it is definitely worth upgrading as soon as you can.
It also deals a heck of a lot of damage in the main boss fight at the end of this map.
Thanks for reading guys.
Henry
