Easter Egg Guide: Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3 --

Hi guys,

there is a way within Ashes of the Damned map to obtain a FREE RAY GUN MARK II in this level within Call of Duty Black Ops 7 zombies.

This is can be a little bit tricky to do, because if you mess up one of the particular steps, there is no known way on how to do it again within the same play through.

If we mess up, we basically have to start the game over again to try and obtain this weapon.

You don't have to restart as you could get it from the MYSTERY BOX for example the RAYGUN and be lucky that way.

The good news is this will give you a free shot at obtaining it, along with mystery perks, zombie essence etc as rewards if you are able to pull this off.

Let's get down to it, as there is a lot of jumping around this map via JUMP PADS to get this to work and will take an investment of a few thousand credits.

Jumping to conclusions

First up to activate the start of this Easter egg, we need to initially use all of the 7 JUMP PADS located around the map.

In order to do this of course, you will have need to have turned on all the 3 POWER PUMPS in turn in the various areas around the map to activate these pads.

The 3 POWER PUMPS are located of course in BLACKWATER LAKE, ASHWOOD and VANDORN'S FARM areas of the map.

Just remember that every time you activate a jump pad, that is 500 essence of your hard earned cash going up into the air.....literally.....along with yourself. So it is a bit expensive but worth it if we pull it off.

You can do the JUMP PADS in any order, as long as all 7 are used, but a nice loop to do of them is the following taking the JUMP PAD'S from:

  • Janus Tower Plaza to Vandorn's Farm
  • Vandorn's Farm to Ashwood
  • Ashwood to Exit 115
  • Exit 115 to Zarya Cosmodrome
  • Zarya Cosmodrome to Ashwood
  • Ashwood to Blackwater Lake
  • Blackwater Lake to Project Janus Plaza
Ending the sequence back at POJECT JANUS PLAZA is perfect, because this is where there will be a set of SPOTLIGHTS on the front of the JANUS TOWER BUILDING, which will start to give out a MORSE CODE STYLE message which will relate to a set of numbers that will form a CODE we will need to use and follow later on.

If we look at the spotlights currently there will be the TWO ON THE LEFT are out, and the TWO ON THE RIGHT are fully lit.

The moment you arrived back here started off a TIMER. Exactly 4 ROUNDS from now if you return to here, you will find that the very first SPOTLIGHT on the left will start BLINKING, then give a pause.....then start blinking again. Rinsing and repeating this cycle.

This was finished on ROUND 5 the JUMP PADS sequence, then we returned here in ROUND 9 as the round started and after about 3 or 4 seconds of the round started, the FIRST LIGHT ON THE LEFT began to blink the code.

When it is blinking, we will be counting the number of blinks and noting it down, before there is a brief 1 second pause....then it will start blinking again. This will happen 7 times and form a 7 DIGIT CODE.

So if for example it blinks 3 times then pauses the first light....write down number 3. It then blinks 5 times and pauses.....it is number 5. This will happen until it spells out  7 numbers in total, then it will get the end of the sequence and pause for a few seconds before starting it over again.

The 7 digit code it spells out is random on every playthrough so you will have to give it a go this step, every time.

When it gets to the 7th number in sequence, it will stay on for slightly longer and switch from YELLOW to a SOLID WHITE COLOUR, then resume the blinking again.

Okay so we have obtained the 7 DIGIT CODE....what do we do with it now?

These numbers are jumping around everywhere
You may not have noticed, but all of the JUMP PADS within this map have a NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THEM.

Each JUMP PAD is given a unique number and what we need to do is use the JUMP PADS in the order that correspond to their number, in the order they appear in the 7 DIGIT CODE we obtained for the flashing light in PROJECT JANUS PLAZA.

Here is a list of all of the JUMP PADS and their corresponding numbers. We want to take them in the order they appear in the 7 digit code we got, then take the very last jump pad back to ASHWOOD to complete the entire loop.

JUMP PAD LOCATIONS:
  • JUMP PAD 1 - Janus Tower Plaza
  • JUMP PAD 2 - Vandorn's Farm
  • JUMP PAD 3 - Ashwood (Double Tap Perk Machine Side)
  • JUMP PAD 4 - Blackwater Lake
  • JUMP PAD 5 - Exit 115
  • JUMP PAD 6 - Zarya Cosmodrome
  • JUMP PAD 7 - Ashwood (Juggernog Perk Machine Side)

So check the code you wrote down earlier and follow the jump pads in the sequence of the 7 digit code you wrote down.

Once completed we can then move onto the final step, which is the most trickiest, as we only get one shot at it and if we get it wrong, we lose the ability to try and get the free RAYGUN MARK II.

Now we have travelled the JUMP PADS in sequence of our 7 DIGIT CODE, check around the map in the sky and you should see that a PURPLE PORTAL will have appeared at some point in the sky. Do not use any jump pads just yet, until we figure out where this portal is.

If you use a JUMP PAD and it doesn't make you pass through this PURPLE PORTAL, it will disappear and we will not be able to attempt this on the current playthrough again.

This PORTAL will be located between JUMP PAD ROUTES.

What we have to do now is find the JUMP PAD we need to use in order to hit this PURPLE PORTAL.

This is the trickiest step as it looks clear as day you take one jump pad to another going towards this portal, only to find out, it is in the other side of the route.

So for example the portal appears between jump pads 1 and 2. You take the JUMP PAD 1 that leads you to JUMP PAD 2....only to find out, it should have been the reverse journey and been taking JUMP PAD 2 to JUMP PAD 1.

You may come across this several times until getting the hang of it and you will notice you miss the PURPLE PORTAL by a few feet if you get this wrong.

It just comes with experience and knowing the exact path the JUMP PAD from one area to another will take so don't worry if you don't get it right.

If you have got this far your a hard worker and determined to see it through.

Once you hit the portal with the correct jump pad route, you will be teleported back to ASHWOOD where you will be given the rewards from a PORTAL spitting out zombie bodies along with essence, free random perks, possibly the RAYGUN MARK II among other things such as loot and other goodies.

I say you POSSIBLY may get the Raygun Mark II, this is because the rewards you get from this portal, relate to what round you are currently on. The higher the round, the better the rewards.

Most people are agreeing that doing this Easter egg from round 20 and upwards, guarantees with about 99.99% accuracy, you will get the RAYGUN MARK II as a reward. Lower rounds will give you a pile of junk like salvage and maybe 1500 essence which is not worth it, as you spent several thousand essence alone activating the jump pads.

Try to hold out as long as you can before attempting it and hopefully, fingers crossed, luck is on your side.

Thanks for reading as always.

Henry
