Totenreich is packed with secrets, but one of the creepiest hidden Easter eggs players have discovered is the secret Richtofen jump scare. This scare can only be triggered during Richtofen's exclusive side quest and is easy to miss if you don't know exactly what to do.

So, let's find out how to activate the jump scare, which has become a staple in every recent Black Ops zombies map.

How to activate the Richtofen Jumpscare

Before you can trigger the jump scare, you'll need to begin the Richtofen Side Quest, commonly referred to by the community as the Domineering Quest.

Here is an overview of the steps on how to do this jump scare from start to finish:

• Play as Edward Richtofen

The Easter egg is tied specifically to Richtofen, so you'll need to select him as your operator before starting the match.

• Start the Domineering Side Quest

Head to the Core Foundry and open the barrel that initiates the questline. From there, continue progressing through the objectives until you reach the final stages of the quest.

• Reach the Wooden Doors

Near the end of the side quest, you'll come across a set of wooden doors that you're expected to open in order to continue.

• Don't Open the Doors

This is the important part. Instead of interacting with the doors, simply remain in the area and wait. You will hear knocking at the doors, tempting you to open them, but hold back.

• Wait for the Secret Event

After standing there long enough, the hidden Richtofen jump scare will trigger automatically. The scare only appears if you remain idle and avoid progressing through the quest, making it one of Totenreich's easiest secrets to miss.

The Richtofen jump scare is a fun hidden Easter egg that rewards curious players who take their time exploring every corner of Totenreich. 

You will then fail the Richtofen Side Easter egg as you did not go through the door, but will be rewarded with this instead.

After a few seconds of the jump scare triggering, you will be teleported back to the Totenreich map.

Since most players instinctively open the doors and continue the quest, many never discover this secret encounter. If you're hunting for every hidden detail and Easter egg in Black Ops 7 Zombies, this is definitely one you'll want to experience for yourself.
